102. At-Takaathur سُورَةُ التَّكَاثُرِ
Yusuf AliThe mutual rivalry for piling up (the good things of this world) diverts you (from the more serious things)
Saheeh InternationalCompetition in [worldly] increase diverts you
«ألهاكم» شغلكم عن طاعة الله «التكاثر» التفاخر بالأموال والأولاد والرجال.
Yusuf AliUntil ye visit the graves
Saheeh InternationalUntil you visit the graveyards
«حتى زرتم المقابر» بأن متم فدفنتم فيها، أو عددتم الموتى تكاثرا.
Yusuf AliBut nay, ye soon shall know (the reality)
Saheeh InternationalNo! You are going to know
«كلا» ردع «سوف تعلمون».
Yusuf AliAgain, ye soon shall know
Saheeh InternationalThen no! You are going to know
«ثم كلا سوف تعلمون» سوء عاقبة تفاخركم عند النزع ثم في القبر.
Yusuf AliNay, were ye to know with certainty of mind, (ye would beware)
Saheeh InternationalNo! If you only knew with knowledge of certainty
«كلا» حقا «لو تعلمون علم اليقين» علما يقينا عاقبة التفاخر ما اشتغلتم به.
Yusuf AliYe shall certainly see Hell-Fire
Saheeh InternationalYou will surely see the Hellfire
«لترون الجحيم» النار جواب قسم محذوف وحذف منه لام الفعل وعينه وألقت حركتها على الراء.
Yusuf AliAgain, ye shall see it with certainty of sight
Saheeh InternationalThen you will surely see it with the eye of certainty
«ثم لترونها» تأكيد «عين اليقين» مصدر لأن رأى وعاين بمعنى واحد.
Yusuf AliThen, shall ye be questioned that Day about the joy (ye indulged in)
Saheeh InternationalThen you will surely be asked that Day about pleasure
«ثم لتسألُن» حذف منه نون الرفع لتوالي النونات وواو ضمير الجمع لالتقاء الساكنين «يومئذ» يوم رؤيتها «عن النعيم» ما يلتذ به في الدنيا من الصحة والفراغ والأمن والمطعم والمشرب وغير ذلك.
