107. Al-Maa'un سُورَةُ المَاعُونِ
Saheeh InternationalHave you seen the one who denies the Recompense
Yusuf AliSeest thou one who denies the Judgment (to come)
«أرأيت الذي يُكذِّب بالدين» بالجزاء والحساب، أي هل عرفته وإن لم تعرفه.
Saheeh InternationalFor that is the one who drives away the orphan
Yusuf AliThen such is the (man) who repulses the orphan (with harshness)
«فذلك» بتقدير هو بعد الفاء «الذي يَدُعُّ اليتيم» أي يدفعه بعنف عن حقه.
Saheeh InternationalAnd does not encourage the feeding of the poor
Yusuf AliAnd encourages not the feeding of the indigent
«ولا يحض» نفسه ولا غيره «على طعام المسكين» أي إطعامه، نزلت في العاص بن وائل أو الوليد بن المغيرة.
Saheeh InternationalSo woe to those who pray
Yusuf AliSo woe to the worshippers
«فويل للمصلين».
Saheeh International[But] who are heedless of their prayer
Yusuf AliWho are neglectful of their prayers
«الذين هم عن صلاتهم ساهون» غافلون يؤخرونها عن وقتها.
Saheeh InternationalThose who make show [of their deeds]
Yusuf AliThose who (want but) to be seen (of men)
«الذين هم يراءون» في الصلاة وغيرها.
Saheeh InternationalAnd withhold [simple] assistance
Yusuf AliBut refuse (to supply) (even) neighbourly needs
«ويمنعون الماعون» كالإبرة والفأس والقدر والقصعة.
