Saheeh InternationalOr do those who do evil deeds think they can outrun Us? Evil is what they judge

Yusuf AliDo those who practise evil think that they will get the better of Us? Evil is their judgment

Saheeh InternationalWhoever should hope for the meeting with Allah - indeed, the term decreed by Allah is coming. And He is the Hearing, the Knowing

Yusuf AliFor those whose hopes are in the meeting with God (in the Hereafter, let them strive); for the term (appointed) by God is surely coming and He hears and knows (all things)

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırHer kim Allah'a kavuşmayı umuyorsa bilsin ki, Allah'ın tayin ettiği o vakit elbette gelecektir. O her şeyi işiten ve bilendir

Saheeh InternationalAnd whoever strives only strives for [the benefit of] himself. Indeed, Allah is free from need of the worlds

Yusuf AliAnd if any strive (with might and main), they do so for their own souls: for God is free of all needs from all creation

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırCihad eden ancak kendisi için cihad etmiş olur. Şüphesiz Allah, âlemlerden müstağnidir

Saheeh InternationalAnd those who believe and do righteous deeds - We will surely remove from them their misdeeds and will surely reward them according to the best of what they used to do

Yusuf AliThose who believe and work righteous deeds,- from them shall We blot out all evil (that may be) in them, and We shall reward them according to the best of their deeds

Saheeh InternationalAnd We have enjoined upon man goodness to parents. But if they endeavor to make you associate with Me that of which you have no knowledge, do not obey them. To Me is your return, and I will inform you about what you used to do

Yusuf AliWe have enjoined on man kindness to parents: but if they (either of them) strive (to force) thee to join with Me (in worship) anything of which thou hast no knowledge, obey them not. Ye have (all) to return to me, and I will tell you (the truth ) of all that ye did

Saheeh InternationalAnd those who believe and do righteous deeds - We will surely admit them among the righteous [into Paradise]

Yusuf AliAnd those who believe and work righteous deeds,- them shall We admit to the company of the Righteous

Saheeh InternationalAnd of the people are some who say, "We believe in Allah," but when one [of them] is harmed for [the cause of] Allah, they consider the trial of the people as [if it were] the punishment of Allah. But if victory comes from your Lord, they say, "Indeed, We were with you." Is not Allah most knowing of what is within the breasts of all creatures

Yusuf AliThen there are among men such as say, "We believe in God"; but when they suffer affliction in (the cause of) God, they treat men's oppression as if it were the Wrath of God! And if help comes (to thee) from thy Lord, they are sure to say, "We have (always) been with you!" Does not God know best all that is in the hearts of all creation

Elmalılı Hamdi Yazırİnsanlardan kimi vardır ki, "Allah'a inandık" der; fakat Allah uğrunda eziyete uğratıldığı zaman, insanların işkencesini Allah'ın azabı gibi tutar. Halbuki Rabbinden bir yardım gelecek olsa, mutlaka, "Doğrusu biz de sizinle beraberdik" derler. Acaba Allah, herkesin kalbindekileri en iyi bilen değil midir

Saheeh InternationalAnd Allah will surely make evident those who believe, and He will surely make evident the hypocrites

Yusuf AliAnd God most certainly knows those who believe, and as certainly those who are Hypocrites

Saheeh InternationalAnd those who disbelieve say to those who believe, "Follow our way, and we will carry your sins." But they will not carry anything of their sins. Indeed, they are liars

Yusuf AliAnd the Unbelievers say to those who believe: "Follow our path, and we will bear (the consequences) of your faults." Never in the least will they bear their faults: in fact they are liars

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırKâfirler, iman edenlere, "Bizim yolumuza uyun, sizin günahlarınızı biz yüklenelim" derler. Halbuki onların hiçbir günahını yüklenecek değillerdir. Gerçekte onlar, kesinlikle yalan söylemektedirler

Saheeh InternationalBut they will surely carry their [own] burdens and [other] burdens along with their burdens, and they will surely be questioned on the Day of Resurrection about what they used to invent

Yusuf AliThey will bear their own burdens, and (other) burdens along with their own, and on the Day of Judgments they will be called to account for their falsehoods

Saheeh InternationalAnd We certainly sent Noah to his people, and he remained among them a thousand years minus fifty years, and the flood seized them while they were wrongdoers

Yusuf AliWe (once) sent Noah to his people, and he tarried among them a thousand years less fifty: but the Deluge overwhelmed them while they (persisted in) sin

Saheeh InternationalYou only worship, besides Allah, idols, and you produce a falsehood. Indeed, those you worship besides Allah do not possess for you [the power of] provision. So seek from Allah provision and worship Him and be grateful to Him. To Him you will be returned

Yusuf AliFor ye do worship idols besides God, and ye invent falsehood. The things that ye worship besides God have no power to give you sustenance: then seek ye sustenance from God, serve Him, and be grateful to Him: to Him will be your return

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırSiz Allah'ı bırakıp sadece birtakım putlara tapıyor, asılsız sözler uyduruyorsunuz. Bilmelisiniz ki, Allah'ı bırakıp da taptıklarınız, size rızık veremezler. O halde rızkı Allah katında arayın. O'na kulluk edin. Ancak O'na döndürüleceksiniz

Saheeh InternationalAnd if you [people] deny [the message] - already nations before you have denied. And there is not upon the Messenger except [the duty of] clear notification

Yusuf AliAnd if ye reject (the Message), so did generations before you: and the duty of the apostle is only to preach publicly (and clearly)

Saheeh InternationalHave they not considered how Allah begins creation and then repeats it? Indeed that, for Allah, is easy

Yusuf AliSee they not how God originates creation, then repeats it: truly that is easy for God

Saheeh InternationalSay, [O Muhammad], "Travel through the land and observe how He began creation. Then Allah will produce the final creation. Indeed Allah, over all things, is competent

Yusuf AliSay: "Travel through the earth and see how God did originate creation; so will God produce a later creation: for God has power over all things

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırDe ki: "Yeryüzünde gezip dolaşın da, Allah ilk baştan nasıl yaratmış bakın. İşte Allah bundan sonra (aynı şekilde) ahiret hayatını da yaratacaktır." Gerçekten Allah her şeye kadirdir

Saheeh InternationalHe punishes whom He wills and has mercy upon whom He wills, and to Him you will be returned

Yusuf AliHe punishes whom He pleases, and He grants Mercy to whom He pleases, and towards Him are ye turned

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırO, dilediğine azab eder, dilediğine rahmet eder. Ancak O'na döndürüleceksiniz

Saheeh InternationalAnd you will not cause failure [to Allah] upon the earth or in the heaven. And you have not other than Allah any protector or any helper

Yusuf AliNot on earth nor in heaven will ye be able (fleeing) to frustrate (his Plan), nor have ye, besides God, any protector or helper

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırSiz ne yeryüzünde, ne de gökte (Allah'ı) aciz bırakamazsınız. Allah'tan başka bir dost ve yardımcı da bulamazsınız

Saheeh InternationalAnd the ones who disbelieve in the signs of Allah and the meeting with Him - those have despaired of My mercy, and they will have a painful punishment

Yusuf AliThose who reject the Signs of God and the Meeting with Him (in the Hereafter),- it is they who shall despair of My Mercy: it is they who will (suffer) a most grievous Penalty

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırAllah'ın âyetlerini ve O'na kavuşmayı inkâr edenler var ya, işte onlar benim rahmetimden ümitlerini kesmişlerdir ve onlar için acıklı bir azab vardır

Saheeh InternationalAnd the answer of Abraham's people was not but that they said, "Kill him or burn him," but Allah saved him from the fire. Indeed in that are signs for a people who believe

Yusuf AliSo naught was the answer of (Abraham's) people except that they said: "Slay him or burn him." But God did save him from the Fire. Verily in this are Signs for people who believe

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırKavminin (İbrahim'e) cevabı ise, "Onu öldürün, yahut yakın!" demelerinden ibaret oldu. Ama Allah onu ateşten kurtardı. Doğrusu bunda, iman eden bir kavim için ibretler vardır

Saheeh InternationalAnd [Abraham] said, "You have only taken, other than Allah, idols as [a bond of] affection among you in worldly life. Then on the Day of Resurrection you will deny one another and curse one another, and your refuge will be the Fire, and you will not have any helpers

Yusuf AliAnd he said: "For you, ye have taken (for worship) idols besides God, out of mutual love and regard between yourselves in this life; but on the Day of Judgment ye shall disown each other and curse each other: and your abode will be the Fire, an d ye shall have none to help

Elmalılı Hamdi Yazır(İbrahim onlara) dedi ki: "Siz, sırf aranızdaki dünya hayatına has muhabbet uğruna Allah'ı bırakıp birtakım putlar edindiniz. Sonra kıyamet günü (geldiğinde) ise, kiminiz kiminizi tanımayacak, kiminiz kiminizi lanetleyecektir. Varacağınız yer cehennemdir. Ve hiç yardımcınız da yoktur

Saheeh InternationalAnd Lot believed him. [Abraham] said, "Indeed, I will emigrate to [the service of] my Lord. Indeed, He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise

Yusuf AliBut Lut had faith in Him: He said: "I will leave home for the sake of my Lord: for He is Exalted in Might, and Wise

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırBunun üzerine ona sadece Lut iman etti. (İbrahim) de dedi ki: "Ben Rabbime hicret edeceğim. Şüphe yok ki O çok güçlüdür, hüküm ve hikmet sahibidir

Saheeh InternationalAnd We gave to Him Isaac and Jacob and placed in his descendants prophethood and scripture. And We gave him his reward in this world, and indeed, he is in the Hereafter among the righteous

Yusuf AliAnd We gave (Abraham) Isaac and Jacob, and ordained among his progeny Prophethood and Revelation, and We granted him his reward in this life; and he was in the Hereafter (of the company) of the Righteous

Yusuf AliAnd (remember) Lut: behold, he said to his people: "Ye do commit lewdness, such as no people in Creation (ever) committed before you

Saheeh InternationalIndeed, you approach men and obstruct the road and commit in your meetings [every] evil." And the answer of his people was not but they said, "Bring us the punishment of Allah, if you should be of the truthful

Yusuf AliDo ye indeed approach men, and cut off the highway?- and practise wickedness (even) in your councils?" But his people gave no answer but this: they said: "Bring us the Wrath of God if thou tellest the truth

Elmalılı Hamdi Yazır(Bu ilâhî ikazdan sonra) siz, ille de erkeklere yaklaşacak, yol kesecek ve toplantılarınızda edepsizlik yapacak mısınız?" Kavminin cevabı ise, şöyle demelerinden ibaret oldu: "Doğru söyleyenlerden isen Allah'ın azabını getir bize

Saheeh InternationalHe said, "My Lord, support me against the corrupting people

Yusuf AliHe said: "O my Lord! help Thou me against people who do mischief

Elmalılı Hamdi Yazır(Lut:) "Ey Rabbim! Şu fesatçılar güruhuna karşı bana yardım eyle" dedi

Saheeh InternationalAnd when Our messengers came to Abraham with the good tidings, they said, "Indeed, we will destroy the people of that Lot's city. Indeed, its people have been wrongdoers

Yusuf AliWhen Our Messengers came to Abraham with the good news, they said: "We are indeed going to destroy the people of this township: for truly they are (addicted to) crime

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırElçilerimiz İbrahim'e (iki oğul vereceğimize dair) müjdeyi getirdiklerinde şöyle dediler: "Biz bu memleket halkını helak edeceğiz. Çünkü oranın halkı zalim kimselerdir

Saheeh International[Abraham] said, "Indeed, within it is Lot." They said, "We are more knowing of who is within it. We will surely save him and his family, except his wife. She is to be of those who remain behind

Yusuf AliHe said: "But there is Lut there." They said: "Well do we know who is there : we will certainly save him and his following,- except his wife: she is of those who lag behind

Elmalılı Hamdi Yazır(İbrahim) dedi ki: "Ama orada Lut var!" Şöyle cevap verdiler: "Biz orada kimlerin bulunduğunu çok iyi biliyoruz. Onu ve ailesini elbette kurtaracağız. Yalnız karısı müstesna; o geride (azabda) kalacaklar arasındadır

Saheeh InternationalAnd when Our messengers came to Lot, he was distressed for them and felt for them great discomfort. They said, "Fear not, nor grieve. Indeed, we will save you and your family, except your wife; she is to be of those who remain behind

Yusuf AliAnd when Our Messengers came to Lut, he was grieved on their account, and felt himself powerless (to protect) them: but they said: "Fear thou not, nor grieve: we are (here) to save thee and thy following, except thy wife: she is of those who la g behind

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırElçilerimiz Lut'a gelince, onlar hakkında tasalandı. Ve onlar(ı düşünmesi) sebebiyle takatten düştü. O'na: "Korkma, tasalanma! Çünkü biz seni de, aileni de kurtaracağız. Yalnız (azabda) kalacaklar arasında bulunan karın müstesna" dediler

Saheeh InternationalIndeed, we will bring down on the people of this city punishment from the sky because they have been defiantly disobedient

Yusuf AliFor we are going to bring down on the people of this township a Punishment from heaven, because they have been wickedly rebellious

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırBiz şüphesiz bu memleket halkının üzerine, yoldan çıkmalarına karşılık (feci) bir azab indireceğiz."(dediler)

Saheeh InternationalAnd We have certainly left of it a sign as clear evidence for a people who use reason

Yusuf AliAnd We have left thereof an evident Sign, for any people who (care to) understand

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırAndolsun ki biz, aklını kullanacak bir kavim için oradan apaçık bir ibret nişanesi bırakmışızdır

Saheeh InternationalAnd to Madyan [We sent] their brother Shu'ayb, and he said, "O my people, worship Allah and expect the Last Day and do not commit abuse on the earth, spreading corruption

Yusuf AliTo the Madyan (people) (We sent) their brother Shu'aib. Then he said: "O my people! serve God, and fear the Last Day: nor commit evil on the earth, with intent to do mischief

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırMedyen'e de kardeşleri Şuayb'ı gönderdik ve Şuayb, "Ey kavmim! Allah'a kulluk edin, ahiret gününe ümit bağlayın, yeryüzünde bozgunculuk yaparak karışıklık çıkarmayın!" dedi

Saheeh InternationalBut they denied him, so the earthquake seized them, and they became within their home [corpses] fallen prone

Yusuf AliBut they rejected him: Then the mighty Blast seized them, and they lay prostrate in their homes by the morning

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırFakat onu yalancılıkla itham ettiler. Derken, kendilerini bir sarsıntı yakalayıverdi ve yurtlarında diz üstü çökekaldılar

Saheeh InternationalAnd [We destroyed] 'Aad and Thamud, and it has become clear to you from their [ruined] dwellings. And Satan had made pleasing to them their deeds and averted them from the path, and they were endowed with perception

Yusuf Ali(Remember also) the 'Ad and the Thamud (people): clearly will appear to you from (the traces) of their buildings (their fate): the Evil One made their deeds alluring to them, and kept them back from the Path, though they were gifted with intel ligence and skill

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırAd ve Semud'u da (helak ediverdik). Sizin için, (onların başına nelerin geldiği) oturdukları yerlerden apaçık anlaşılmaktadır. Şeytan onlara yaptıkları işleri güzel gösterip onları doğru yoldan çıkardı. Oysa bakıp görebilecek durumdaydılar

Saheeh InternationalAnd [We destroyed] Qarun and Pharaoh and Haman. And Moses had already come to them with clear evidences, and they were arrogant in the land, but they were not outrunners [of Our punishment]

Yusuf Ali(Remember also) Qarun, Pharaoh, and Haman: there came to them Moses with Clear Signs, but they behaved with insolence on the earth; yet they could not overreach (Us)

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırKarun'u, Firavun'u ve Hâmân'ı da (helak ettik). Andolsun ki, Musa onlara apaçık deliller getirmişti de onlar yeryüzünde büyüklük taslamışlardı. Halbuki (azabımızı aşıp ) geçebilecek değillerdi

Saheeh InternationalSo each We seized for his sin; and among them were those upon whom We sent a storm of stones, and among them were those who were seized by the blast [from the sky], and among them were those whom We caused the earth to swallow, and among them were those whom We drowned. And Allah would not have wronged them, but it was they who were wronging themselves

Yusuf AliEach one of them We seized for his crime: of them, against some We sent a violent tornado (with showers of stones); some were caught by a (mighty) Blast; some We caused the earth to swallow up; and some We drowned (in the waters): It was not G od Who injured (or oppressed) them:" They injured (and oppressed) their own souls

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırNitekim onlardan herbirini günahları sebebiyle suç üstü yakaladık: Kiminin üzerine taşlar savuran rüzgarlar gönderdik, kimini korkunç bir ses yakaladı, kimini yerin dibine geçirdik, kimini de suda boğduk. Allah onlara zulmetmiyor, asıl onlar kendilerine yazık ediyorlardı

Saheeh InternationalThe example of those who take allies other than Allah is like that of the spider who takes a home. And indeed, the weakest of homes is the home of the spider, if they only knew

Yusuf AliThe parable of those who take protectors other than God is that of the spider, who builds (to itself) a house; but truly the flimsiest of houses is the spider's house;- if they but knew

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırAllah'tan başka dost edinenlerin durumu, kendine yuva yapan örümceğin durumu gibidir. Halbuki, evlerin en çürüğü şüphesiz örümcek yuvasıdır. Keşke bilselerdi

Saheeh InternationalIndeed, Allah knows whatever thing they call upon other than Him. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise

Yusuf AliVerily God doth know of (every thing) whatever that they call upon besides Him: and He is Exalted (in power), Wise

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırAllah, onların kendisini bırakıpta hangi şeye yalvardıklarını şüphesiz ki bilir. O mutlak güç ve hikmet sahibidir

Saheeh InternationalAnd these examples We present to the people, but none will understand them except those of knowledge

Yusuf AliAnd such are the Parables We set forth for mankind, but only those understand them who have knowledge

Yusuf AliRecite what is sent of the Book by inspiration to thee, and establish regular Prayer: for Prayer restrains from shameful and unjust deeds; and remembrance of God is the greatest (thing in life) without doubt. And God knows the (deeds) that ye d o

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırSana vahyedilen Kitabı oku ve namazı kıl. Muhakkak ki namaz hayasızlıktan ve kötülükten alıkoyar. Allah'ı anmak elbette en büyük ibadettir. Allah yaptıklarınızı bilir

Saheeh InternationalAnd do not argue with the People of the Scripture except in a way that is best, except for those who commit injustice among them, and say, "We believe in that which has been revealed to us and revealed to you. And our God and your God is one; and we are Muslims [in submission] to Him

Yusuf AliAnd dispute ye not with the People of the Book, except with means better (than mere disputation), unless it be with those of them who inflict wrong (and injury): but say, "We believe in the revelation which has come down to us and in that whic h came down to you; Our God and your God is one; and it is to Him we bow (in Islam)

Elmalılı Hamdi Yazırİçlerinden zulmedenleri bir yana, ehli kitapla ancak, en güzel yoldan mücadele edin ve deyin ki: "Bize indirilene de, size indirilene de iman ettik. Bizim ilâhımız da, sizin ilâhınız da birdir ve biz O'na teslim olmuşuzdur

Saheeh InternationalAnd thus We have sent down to you the Qur'an. And those to whom We [previously] gave the Scripture believe in it. And among these [people of Makkah] are those who believe in it. And none reject Our verses except the disbelievers

Yusuf AliAnd thus (it is) that We have sent down the Book to thee. So the People of the Book believe therein, as also do some of these (pagan Arabs): and none but Unbelievers reject our signs

Saheeh InternationalAnd you did not recite before it any scripture, nor did you inscribe one with your right hand. Otherwise the falsifiers would have had [cause for] doubt

Yusuf AliAnd thou wast not (able) to recite a Book before this (Book came), nor art thou (able) to transcribe it with thy right hand: In that case, indeed, would the talkers of vanities have doubted

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırSen bundan önce, ne bir yazı okur, ne de elinle onu yazardın. Öyle olsaydı, batıla uyanlar kuşku duyarlardı

Saheeh InternationalRather, the Qur'an is distinct verses [preserved] within the breasts of those who have been given knowledge. And none reject Our verses except the wrongdoers

Yusuf AliNay, here are Signs self-evident in the hearts of those endowed with knowledge: and none but the unjust reject Our Signs

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırHayır, o (Kur'ân), kendilerine ilim verilenlerin sinelerinde (yer eden) apaçık âyetlerdir. Ayetlerimizi ancak ve ancak zalimler bile bile inkâr eder

Saheeh InternationalBut they say, "Why are not signs sent down to him from his Lord?" Say, "The signs are only with Allah, and I am only a clear warner

Yusuf AliYe they say: "Why are not Signs sent down to him from his Lord?" Say: "The signs are indeed with God: and I am indeed a clear Warner

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırOna Rabbinden (başkaca) mucize indirilmeli değil miydi?" derler. Cevaben de ki: "Mucizeler ancak Allah'ın katındadır. Ben ise sadece apaçık bir uyarıcıyım

Saheeh InternationalAnd is it not sufficient for them that We revealed to you the Book which is recited to them? Indeed in that is a mercy and reminder for a people who believe

Yusuf AliAnd is it not enough for them that we have sent down to thee the Book which is rehearsed to them? Verily, in it is Mercy and a Reminder to those who believe

Saheeh InternationalSay, "Sufficient is Allah between me and you as Witness. He knows what is in the heavens and earth. And they who have believed in falsehood and disbelieved in Allah - it is those who are the losers

Yusuf AliSay: "Enough is God for a witness between me and you: He knows what is in the heavens and on earth. And it is those who believe in vanities and reject God, that will perish (in the end)

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırDe ki: Benimle sizin aranızda şahit olarak Allah yeter. O, göklerde ve yerde ne varsa bilir. Batıla inanıp inkâr edenler var ya, işte ziyana uğrayacaklar onlardır

Saheeh InternationalAnd they urge you to hasten the punishment. And if not for [the decree of] a specified term, punishment would have reached them. But it will surely come to them suddenly while they perceive not

Yusuf AliThey ask thee to hasten on the Punishment (for them): had it not been for a term (of respite) appointed, the Punishment would certainly have come to them: and it will certainly reach them,- of a sudden, while they perceive not

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırSenden azabı çarçabuk (getirmeni) istiyorlar. Eğer önceden tayin edilmiş bir vade olmasaydı, azab elbette onlara gelip çatmıştı. Fakat yine de, hiç farkına varmadıkları bir sırada o kendilerine mutlaka gelecektir

Saheeh InternationalThey urge you to hasten the punishment. And indeed, Hell will be encompassing of the disbelievers

Yusuf AliThey ask thee to hasten on the Punishment: but, of a surety, Hell will encompass the Rejecters of Faith

Elmalılı Hamdi Yazır(Evet) senden azabı çarçabuk (getirmeni) istiyorlar. Halbuki cehennem, hiç şüpheleri olmasın, kâfirleri kuşatacaktır

Saheeh InternationalOn the Day the punishment will cover them from above them and from below their feet and it is said, "Taste [the result of] what you used to do

Yusuf AliOn the Day that the Punishment shall cover them from above them and from below them, and (a Voice) shall say: "Taste ye (the fruits) of your deeds

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırO günde azap, onları hem üstlerinden, hem ayaklarının altından saracak ve Allah (onlara), "Yaptıklarınızın cezasını tadın!" diyecektir

Saheeh InternationalO My servants who have believed, indeed My earth is spacious, so worship only Me

Yusuf AliO My servants who believe! truly, spacious is My Earth: therefore serve ye Me - (and Me alone)

Saheeh InternationalEvery soul will taste death. Then to Us will you be returned

Yusuf AliEvery soul shall have a taste of death in the end to Us shall ye be brought back

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırHer can ölümü tadacaktır. Sonunda bize döndürüleceksiniz

Saheeh InternationalAnd those who have believed and done righteous deeds - We will surely assign to them of Paradise [elevated] chambers beneath which rivers flow, wherein they abide eternally. Excellent is the reward of the [righteous] workers

Yusuf AliBut those who believe and work deeds of righteousness - to them shall We give a Home in Heaven,- lofty mansions beneath which flow rivers,- to dwell therein for aye;- an excellent reward for those who do (good)

Elmalılı Hamdi Yazırİman edip güzel işler yapanları, (evet) muhakkak ki onları, altlarından ırmaklar akan ve içinde ebedî kalacakları cennet köşklerine yerleştireceğiz. (Böyle iyi) işler yapanların mükafatı ne güzeldir

Saheeh InternationalWho have been patient and upon their Lord rely

Yusuf AliThose who persevere in patience, and put their trust, in their Lord and Cherisher

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırKi onlar, sabretmiş olup yalnız Rablerine güvenip dayanmaktadırlar

Saheeh InternationalAnd how many a creature carries not its [own] provision. Allah provides for it and for you. And He is the Hearing, the Knowing

Yusuf AliHow many are the creatures that carry not their own sustenance? It is God who feeds (both) them and you: for He hears and knows (all things)

Saheeh InternationalIf you asked them, "Who created the heavens and earth and subjected the sun and the moon?" they would surely say, "Allah." Then how are they deluded

Yusuf AliIf indeed thou ask them who has created the heavens and the earth and subjected the sun and the moon (to his Law), they will certainly reply, "God". How are they then deluded away (from the truth)

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırAndolsun ki onlara, "Gökleri ve yeri yaratan, güneşi ve ayı buyruğu altında tutan kimdir?" diye sorsan "Allah" derler. O halde nasıl (haktan) çevrilip döndürülüyorlar

Saheeh InternationalAllah extends provision for whom He wills of His servants and restricts for him. Indeed Allah is, of all things, Knowing

Yusuf AliGod enlarges the sustenance (which He gives) to whichever of His servants He pleases; and He (similarly) grants by (strict) measure, (as He pleases): for God has full knowledge of all things

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırAllah, kullarından dilediğine rızkı bol bol verir, dilediğine de kısar. Şüphesiz Allah, her şeyi hakkıyla bilendir

Saheeh InternationalAnd if you asked them, "Who sends down rain from the sky and gives life thereby to the earth after its lifelessness?" they would surely say " Allah." Say, "Praise to Allah "; but most of them do not reason

Yusuf AliAnd if indeed thou ask them who it is that sends down rain from the sky, and gives life therewith to the earth after its death, they will certainly reply, "God!" Say, "Praise be to God!" But most of them understand not

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırAndolsun ki onlara, "Gökten su indirip, onunla ölümünün ardından yeryüzünü canlandıran kimdir?" diye sorsan, mutlaka, "Allah " derler. De ki: (Öyleyse) hamd de Allah'a mahsustur. Fakat çokları akıllarını kullanmazlar

Saheeh InternationalAnd this worldly life is not but diversion and amusement. And indeed, the home of the Hereafter - that is the [eternal] life, if only they knew

Yusuf AliWhat is the life of this world but amusement and play? but verily the Home in the Hereafter,- that is life indeed, if they but knew

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırBu dünya hayatı sadece bir oyun ve oyalanmadan ibarettir. Ahiret yurduna gelince, işte asıl hayat odur. Keşke bilmiş olsalardı

Saheeh InternationalAnd when they board a ship, they supplicate Allah, sincere to Him in religion. But when He delivers them to the land, at once they associate others with Him

Yusuf AliNow, if they embark on a boat, they call on God, making their devotion sincerely (and exclusively) to Him; but when He has delivered them safely to (dry) land, behold, they give a share (of their worship to others)

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırBaksana, gemiye bindikleri zaman, dini yalnız O'na has kılarak (ihlasla) Allah'a yalvarırlar. Fakat onları salimen karaya çıkarınca, bir bakarsın ki, (Allah'a) ortak koşmaktadırlar

Saheeh InternationalSo that they will deny what We have granted them, and they will enjoy themselves. But they are going to know

Yusuf AliDisdaining ungratefully Our gifts, and giving themselves up to (worldly) enjoyment! But soon will they know

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırKendilerine verdiklerimize nankörlük etsinler ve safâ sürsünler bakalım! Ama yakında bilecekler

Saheeh InternationalHave they not seen that We made [Makkah] a safe sanctuary, while people are being taken away all around them? Then in falsehood do they believe, and in the favor of Allah they disbelieve

Yusuf AliDo they not then see that We have made a sanctuary secure, and that men are being snatched away from all around them? Then, do they believe in that which is vain, and reject the Grace of God

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırÇevrelerinde insanlar kapılıp götürülürken (öldürülürken, ya da esir edilirken), bizim (Mekke'yi) güven içinde kudsî bir yer yaptığımızı görmediler mi? Hâlâ batıla inanıp Allah'ın nimetine nankörlük mü ediyorlar

Saheeh InternationalAnd who is more unjust than one who invents a lie about Allah or denies the truth when it has come to him? Is there not in Hell a [sufficient] residence for the disbelievers

Yusuf AliAnd who does more wrong than he who invents a lie against God or rejects the Truth when it reaches him? Is there not a home in Hell for those who reject Faith

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırAllah'a karşı yalan uyduran, yahut kendisine hak gelmişken onu yalan sayandan daha zalim kimdir? Cehennemde kâfirlere yer mi yok

Saheeh InternationalAnd those who strive for Us - We will surely guide them to Our ways. And indeed, Allah is with the doers of good

Yusuf AliAnd those who strive in Our (cause),- We will certainly guide them to our Paths: For verily God is with those who do right
