77. Al-Mursalaat سُورَةُ المُرۡسَلَاتِ
Saheeh InternationalBy those [winds] sent forth in gusts
Yusuf AliBy the (Winds) sent forth one after another (to man's profit)
«والمرسلات عُرفا» أي الرياح متتابعة كعرف الفرس يتلو بعضه بعضا ونصبه على الحال.
Saheeh InternationalAnd the winds that blow violently
Yusuf AliWhich then blow violently in tempestuous Gusts
«فالعاصفات عصفا» الرياح الشديدة.
Saheeh InternationalAnd [by] the winds that spread [clouds]
Yusuf AliAnd scatter (things) far and wide
«والناشرات نشرا» الرياح تنشر المطر.
Saheeh InternationalAnd those [angels] who bring criterion
Yusuf AliThen separate them, one from another
«فالفارقات فرقا» أي آيات القرآن تفرق بين الحق والباطل والحلال والحرام.
Saheeh InternationalAnd those [angels] who deliver a message
Yusuf AliThen spread abroad a Message
«فالملقيات ذكرا» أي الملائكة تنزل بالوحي إلى الأنبياء والرسل يلقون الوحي إلى الأمم.
Saheeh InternationalAs justification or warning
Yusuf AliWhether of Justification or of Warning
«عذْرا أو نذرا» أي للإعذار والإنذار من الله تعالى وفي قراءة بضم ذال نذرا وقرئ بضم ذال عذرا.
Saheeh InternationalIndeed, what you are promised is to occur
Yusuf AliAssuredly, what ye are promised must come to pass
«إنما توعدون» أي يا كفار مكة من البعث والعذاب «لواقع» كائن لا محالة.
Saheeh InternationalSo when the stars are obliterated
Yusuf AliThen when the stars become dim
«فإذا النجوم طمست» محي نورها.
Saheeh InternationalAnd when the heaven is opened
Yusuf AliWhen the heaven is cleft asunder
«وإذا السماء فرجت» شقت.
Saheeh InternationalAnd when the mountains are blown away
Yusuf AliWhen the mountains are scattered (to the winds) as dust
«وإذا الجبال نسفت» فتتت وسيرت.
Saheeh InternationalAnd when the messengers' time has come
Yusuf AliAnd when the apostles are (all) appointed a time (to collect)
«وإذا الرسل أُقتت» بالواو وبالهمزة بدلا منها، أي جمعت لوقت.
Saheeh InternationalFor what Day was it postponed
Yusuf AliFor what Day are these (portents) deferred
«لأي يوم» ليوم عظيم «أُجلت» للشهادة على أممهم بالتبليغ.
Saheeh InternationalFor the Day of Judgement
Yusuf AliFor the Day of Sorting out
«ليوم الفصل» بين الخلق ويؤخذ منه جواب إذا، أي وقع الفصل بين الخلائق.
Saheeh InternationalAnd what can make you know what is the Day of Judgement
Yusuf AliAnd what will explain to thee what is the Day of Sorting out
«وما أدراك ما يوم الفصل» تهويل لشأنه.
Saheeh InternationalWoe, that Day, to the deniers
Yusuf AliAh woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth
«ويل يومئذ للمكذبين» هذا وعيد لهم.
Saheeh InternationalDid We not destroy the former peoples
Yusuf AliDid We not destroy the men of old (for their evil)
«ألم نهلك الأولين» بتكذيبهم، أي أهلكناهم.
Saheeh InternationalThen We will follow them with the later ones
Yusuf AliSo shall We make later (generations) follow them
«ثم نتبعهم الآخرين» ممن كذبوا ككفار مكة فنهلكهم.
Saheeh InternationalThus do We deal with the criminals
Yusuf AliThus do We deal with men of sin
«كذلك» مثل ما فعلنا بالمكذبين «نفعل بالمجرمين» بكل من أجرم فيما يستقبل فنهلكهم.
Saheeh InternationalWoe, that Day, to the deniers
Yusuf AliAh woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth
«ويل يومئذ للمكذبين» تأكيد.
Saheeh InternationalDid We not create you from a liquid disdained
Yusuf AliHave We not created you from a fluid (held) despicable
«أَلم نخلقكم من ماء مهين» ضعيف وهو المني.
Saheeh InternationalAnd We placed it in a firm lodging
Yusuf AliThe which We placed in a place of rest, firmly fixed
«فجعلناه في قرار مكين» حريز وهو الرحم.
Saheeh InternationalFor a known extent
Yusuf AliFor a period (of gestation), determined (according to need)
«إلى قدر معلوم» وهو وقت الولادة.
Saheeh InternationalAnd We determined [it], and excellent [are We] to determine
Yusuf AliFor We do determine (according to need); for We are the best to determine (things)
«فقَدرنا» على ذلك «فنعم القادرون» نحن.
Saheeh InternationalWoe, that Day, to the deniers
Yusuf AliAh woe, that Day! to the Rejecters of Truth
«ويل يومئذ للمكذبين».
Saheeh InternationalHave We not made the earth a container
Yusuf AliHave We not made the earth (as a place) to draw together
«ألم نجعل الأرض كفاتا» مصدر كفت بمعنى ضم، أي ضامة.
Saheeh InternationalOf the living and the dead
Yusuf AliThe living and the dead
«أحياءً» على ظهرها «وأمواتا» في بطنها.
Saheeh InternationalAnd We placed therein lofty, firmly set mountains and have given you to drink sweet water
Yusuf AliAnd made therein mountains standing firm, lofty (in stature); and provided for you water sweet (and wholesome)
«وجعلنا فيها رواسيَ شامخات» جبالا مرتفعات «وأسقيناكم ماء فراتا» عذبا.
Saheeh InternationalWoe, that Day, to the deniers
Yusuf AliAh woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth
«ويل يومئذ للمكذبين» ويقال للمكذبين يوم القيامة:
Saheeh International[They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny
Yusuf Ali(It will be said:) "Depart ye to that which ye used to reject as false
«انطلقوا إلى ما كنتم به» من العذاب «تكذبون».
Saheeh InternationalProceed to a shadow [of smoke] having three columns
Yusuf AliDepart ye to a Shadow (of smoke ascending) in three columns
«انطلقوا إلى ظل ذي ثلاث شعب» هو دخان جهنم إذا ارتفع افترق ثلاث فرق لعظمه.
Saheeh International[But having] no cool shade and availing not against the flame
Yusuf Ali(Which yields) no shade of coolness, and is of no use against the fierce Blaze
«لا ظليل» كنين يظلهم من حر ذلك اليوم «ولا يغني» يرد عنهم شيئا «من اللهب» النار.
Saheeh InternationalIndeed, it throws sparks [as huge] as a fortress
Yusuf AliIndeed it throws about sparks (huge) as Forts
«إنها» أي النار «ترمي بشرر» هو ما تطاير منها «كالقصر» من البناء في عظمه وارتفاعه.
Saheeh InternationalAs if they were yellowish [black] camels
Yusuf AliAs if there were (a string of) yellow camels (marching swiftly)
(كأنه جمالات) جمالات جمع جمل وفي قراءة جمالت (صفر) في هيئتها ولونها وفي الحديث "" شرار الناس أسود كالقير "" والعرب تسمي سود الإبل صفرا لشوب سوادها بصفرة فقيل صفر في الآية بمعنى سود لما ذكر وقيل لا، والشرر: جمع شرارة، والقير: القار.
Saheeh InternationalWoe, that Day, to the deniers
Yusuf AliAh woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth
«ويل يومئذ للمكذبين».
Saheeh InternationalThis is a Day they will not speak
Yusuf AliThat will be a Day when they shall not be able to speak
«هذا» أي يوم القيامة «يوم لا ينطقون» فيه بشيء.
Saheeh InternationalNor will it be permitted for them to make an excuse
Yusuf AliNor will it be open to them to put forth pleas
«ولا يؤذن لهم» في العذر «فيعتذرون» عطف على يؤذن من غير تسبب عنه فهو داخل في حيز النفي، أي لا إذن فلا اعتذار.
Saheeh InternationalWoe, that Day, to the deniers
Yusuf AliAh woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth
«ويل يومئذ للمكذبين».
Saheeh InternationalThis is the Day of Judgement; We will have assembled you and the former peoples
Yusuf AliThat will be a Day of Sorting out! We shall gather you together and those before (you)
«هذا يوم الفصل جمعناكم» أيها المكذبون من هذه الأمة «والأولين» من المكذبين قبلكم فتحاسبون وتعذبون جميعا.
Saheeh InternationalSo if you have a plan, then plan against Me
Yusuf AliNow, if ye have a trick (or plot), use it against Me
«فإن كان لكم كيد» حيلة في دفع العذاب عنكم «فكيدون» فافعلوها.
Saheeh InternationalWoe, that Day, to the deniers
Yusuf AliAh woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth
«ويل يومئذ للمكذبين».
Saheeh InternationalIndeed, the righteous will be among shades and springs
Yusuf AliAs to the Righteous, they shall be amidst (cool) shades and springs (of water)
«إن المتقين في ظلال» أي تكاثف أشجار إذ لا شمس يظل من حرها «وعيون» نابعة من الماء.
Saheeh InternationalAnd fruits from whatever they desire
Yusuf AliAnd (they shall have) fruits,- all they desire
«وفواكه مما يشتهون» فيه إعلام بأن المأكل والمشرب في الجنة بحسب شهواتهم بخلاف الدنيا فبحسب ما يجد الناس في الأغلب ويقال لهم:
Saheeh International[Being told], "Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you used to do
Yusuf AliEat ye and drink ye to your heart's content: for that ye worked (Righteousness)
«كلوا واشربوا هنيئا» حال، أي متهنئين «بما كنتم تعملون» من الطاعة.
Saheeh InternationalIndeed, We thus reward the doers of good
Yusuf AliThus do We certainly reward the Doers of Good
«إنا كذلك» كما جزينا المتقين «نجزي المحسنين».
Saheeh InternationalWoe, that Day, to the deniers
Yusuf AliAh woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth
«ويل يومئذ للمكذبين».
Saheeh International[O disbelievers], eat and enjoy yourselves a little; indeed, you are criminals
Yusuf Ali(O ye unjust!) Eat ye and enjoy yourselves (but) a little while, for that ye are Sinners
«كلوا وتمتعوا» خطاب للكفار في الدنيا «قليلا» من الزمان وغايته الموت، وفي هذا تهديد لهم «إنكم مجرمون».
Saheeh InternationalWoe, that Day, to the deniers
Yusuf AliAh woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth
«ويل يومئذ للمكذبين».
Saheeh InternationalAnd when it is said to them, "Bow [in prayer]," they do not bow
Yusuf AliAnd when it is said to them, "Prostrate yourselves!" they do not so
«وإذا قيل لهم اركعوا» صلوا «لا يركعون» لا يصلون.
Saheeh InternationalWoe, that Day, to the deniers
Yusuf AliAh woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth
«ويل يومئذ للمكذبين».
Saheeh InternationalThen in what statement after the Qur'an will they believe
Yusuf AliThen what Message, after that, will they believe in
«فبأي حديث بعده» أي القرآن «يؤمنون» أي لا يمكن إيمانهم بغيره من كتب الله بعد تكذيبهم به لاشتماله على الإعجاز الذي لم يشتمل عليه غيره.
