84. Al-Inshiqaaq سُورَةُ الانشِقَاقِ
Yusuf AliWhen the sky is rent asunder
Saheeh InternationalWhen the sky has split [open]
«إذا السماء انشقت».
Yusuf AliAnd hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord, and it must needs (do so)
Saheeh InternationalAnd has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so]
«وأذنت» سمعت وأطاعت في الانشقاق «لربها وحقت» أي وحق لها أن تسمع وتطيع.
Yusuf AliAnd when the earth is flattened out
Saheeh InternationalAnd when the earth has been extended
«وإذا الأرض مدت» زيد في سعتها كما يمد الأديم ولم يبق عليها بناء ولا جبل.
Yusuf AliAnd casts forth what is within it and becomes (clean) empty
Saheeh InternationalAnd has cast out that within it and relinquished [it]
«وألقت ما فيها» من الموتى إلى ظاهرها «وتخلت» عنه.
Yusuf AliAnd hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord,- and it must needs (do so);- (then will come Home the full reality)
Saheeh InternationalAnd has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so]
«وأذنت» سمعت وأطاعت في ذلك «لربها وحقت» وذلك كله يكون يوم القيامة، وجواب إذا وما عطف عليها محذوف دل عليه ما بعده تقديره لقي الإنسان عمله.
Yusuf AliO thou man! Verily thou art ever toiling on towards thy Lord- painfully toiling,- but thou shalt meet Him
Saheeh InternationalO mankind, indeed you are laboring toward your Lord with [great] exertion and will meet it
«يا أيها الإنسان إنك كادح» جاهد في عملك «إلى» لقاء «ربك» وهو الموت «كدحا فملاقيه» أي ملاق عملك المذكور من خير أو شر يوم القيامة.
Yusuf AliThen he who is given his Record in his right hand
Saheeh InternationalThen as for he who is given his record in his right hand
«فأما من أوتي كتابه» كتاب عمله «بيمينه» هو المؤمن.
Yusuf AliSoon will his account be taken by an easy reckoning
Saheeh InternationalHe will be judged with an easy account
(فسوف يحاسب حسابا يسيرا) هو عرض عمله عليه كما في حديث الصحيحين وفيه "" من نوقش الحساب هلك "" وبعد العرض يتجاوز عنه.
Yusuf AliAnd he will turn to his people, rejoicing
Saheeh InternationalAnd return to his people in happiness
«وينقلب إلى أهله» في الجنة «مسرورا» بذلك.
Yusuf AliBut he who is given his Record behind his back
Saheeh InternationalBut as for he who is given his record behind his back
«وأما من أوتي كتابه وراء ظهره» هو الكافر تغل يمناه إلى عنقه وتجعل يسراه وراء ظهره فيأخذ بها كتابه.
Yusuf AliSoon will he cry for perdition
Saheeh InternationalHe will cry out for destruction
«فسوف يدعو» عند رؤيته ما فيه «ثبورا» ينادي هلاكه بقوله: يا ثبوراه.
Yusuf AliAnd he will enter a Blazing Fire
Saheeh InternationalAnd [enter to] burn in a Blaze
«ويصلى سعيرا» يدخل النار الشديدة وفي قراءة بضم الياء وفتح الصاد واللام المشددة.
Yusuf AliTruly, did he go about among his people, rejoicing
Saheeh InternationalIndeed, he had [once] been among his people in happiness
«إنه كان في أهله» عشيرته في الدنيا «مسرورا» بطرا باتباعه لهواه.
Yusuf AliTruly, did he think that he would not have to return (to Us)
Saheeh InternationalIndeed, he had thought he would never return [to Allah]
«إنه ظن أن» مخففة من الثقيلة واسمها محذوف، أي أنه «لن يحور» يرجع إلى ربه.
Yusuf AliNay, nay! for his Lord was (ever) watchful of him
Saheeh InternationalBut yes! Indeed, his Lord was ever of him, Seeing
«بلى» يرجع إليه «إن ربه كان به بصيرا» عالما برجوعه إليه.
Yusuf AliSo I do call to witness the ruddy glow of Sunset
Saheeh InternationalSo I swear by the twilight glow
«فلا أقسم» لا زائدة «بالشفق» هو الحمرة في الأفق بعد غروب الشمس.
Yusuf AliThe Night and its Homing
Saheeh InternationalAnd [by] the night and what it envelops
«والليل وما وسق» جمع ما دخل عليه من الدواب وغيرها.
Yusuf AliAnd the Moon in her fullness
Saheeh InternationalAnd [by] the moon when it becomes full
«والقمر إذا اتسق» اجتمع وتم نوره وذلك في الليالي البيض.
Yusuf AliYe shall surely travel from stage to stage
Saheeh International[That] you will surely experience state after state
«لتركبن» أيها الناس أصله تركبونن حذفت نون الرفع لتوالي الأمثال والواو لالتقاء الساكنين «طبقا عن طبق» حالا بعد حال، وهو الموت ثم الحياة وما بعدها من أحوال القيامة.
Yusuf AliWhat then is the matter with them, that they believe not
Saheeh InternationalSo what is [the matter] with them [that] they do not believe
«فما لهم» أي الكفار «لا يؤمنون» أي أيُّ مانع من الإيمان أو أي حجة لهم في تركه مع وجود براهينه.
Yusuf AliAnd when the Qur'an is read to them, they fall not prostrate
Saheeh InternationalAnd when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate [to Allah]
«و» مالهم «إذا قُرىءَ عليهم القرآن لا يسجدون» يخضعون بأن يؤمنوا به لإعجازه.
Yusuf AliBut on the contrary the Unbelievers reject (it)
Saheeh InternationalBut those who have disbelieved deny
«بل الذين كفروا يكذبون» بالبعث وغيره.
Yusuf AliBut God has full knowledge of what they secrete (in their breasts)
Saheeh InternationalAnd Allah is most knowing of what they keep within themselves
«والله أعلم بما يوعون» يجمعون في صحفهم من الكفر والتكذيب وأعمال السوء.
Yusuf AliSo announce to them a Penalty Grievous
Saheeh InternationalSo give them tidings of a painful punishment
«فبشرهم» أخبرهم «بعذاب أليم» مؤلم.
Yusuf AliExcept to those who believe and work righteous deeds: For them is a Reward that will never fail
Saheeh InternationalExcept for those who believe and do righteous deeds. For them is a reward uninterrupted
«إلا» لكن «الذين آمنوا وعملوا الصالحات لهم أجر غير ممنون» غير مقطوع ولا منقوص ولا يُمَنُّ به عليه.
