86. At-Taariq سُورَةُ الطَّارِقِ
Saheeh InternationalBy the sky and the night comer
Yusuf AliBy the Sky and the Night-Visitant (therein)
«والسماء والطارق» أصله كل آت ليلا ومنه النجوم لطلوعها ليلا.
Saheeh InternationalAnd what can make you know what is the night comer
Yusuf AliAnd what will explain to thee what the Night-Visitant is
«وما أدراك» أعلمك «ما الطارق» مبتدأ وخبر في محل المفعول الثاني لأدرى وما بعد الأولى خبرها وفيه تعظيم لشأن الطارق المفسر بما بعده هو.
Saheeh InternationalIt is the piercing star
Yusuf Ali(It is) the Star of piercing brightness
«النجم» أي الثريا أو كل نجم «الثاقب» المضيء لثقبه الظلام بضوئه وجواب القسم.
Saheeh InternationalThere is no soul but that it has over it a protector
Yusuf AliThere is no soul but has a protector over it
«إن كل نفس لمَا عليها حافظ» بتخفيف ما فهي مزيدة وإن مخففة من الثقيلة واسمها محذوف، أي إنه واللام فارقة وبتشديدها فإن نافية ولما بمعنى إلا والحافظ من الملائكة يحفظ عملها من خير وشر.
Saheeh InternationalSo let man observe from what he was created
Yusuf AliNow let man but think from what he is created
«فلينظر الإنسان» نظر اعتبار «ممَّ خُلق» من أي شيء.
Saheeh InternationalHe was created from a fluid, ejected
Yusuf AliHe is created from a drop emitted
جوابه «خُلق من ماء دافق» ذي اندفاق من الرجل والمرأة في رحمها.
Saheeh InternationalEmerging from between the backbone and the ribs
Yusuf AliProceeding from between the backbone and the ribs
«يخرج من بين الصلب» للرجل «والترائب» للمرأة وهي عظام الصدر.
Saheeh InternationalIndeed, Allah, to return him [to life], is Able
Yusuf AliSurely (God) is able to bring him back (to life)
«إنه» تعالى «على رجعه» بعث الإنسان بعد موته «لقادر» فإذا اعتبر أصله علم أن القادر على ذلك قادر على بعثه.
Saheeh InternationalThe Day when secrets will be put on trial
Yusuf AliThe Day that (all) things secret will be tested
«يوم تبلى» تختبر وتكشف «السرائر» ضمائر القلوب في العقائد والنيات.
Saheeh InternationalThen man will have no power or any helper
Yusuf Ali(Man) will have no power, and no helper
«فما له» لمنكر البعث «من قوة» يمتنع بها من العذاب «ولا ناصر» يدفعه عنه.
Saheeh InternationalBy the sky which returns [rain]
Yusuf AliBy the Firmament which returns (in its round)
«والسماء ذات الرجع» المطر لعوده كل حين.
Saheeh InternationalAnd [by] the earth which cracks open
Yusuf AliAnd by the Earth which opens out (for the gushing of springs or the sprouting of vegetation)
«والأرض ذات الصدع» الشق عن النبات.
Saheeh InternationalIndeed, the Qur'an is a decisive statement
Yusuf AliBehold this is the Word that distinguishes (Good from Evil)
«إنه» أي القرآن «لقول فصل» يفصل بين الحق والباطل.
Saheeh InternationalAnd it is not amusement
Yusuf AliIt is not a thing for amusement
«وما هو بالهزل» باللعب والباطل.
Saheeh InternationalIndeed, they are planning a plan
Yusuf AliAs for them, they are but plotting a scheme
«إنهم» أي الكفار «يكيدون كيدا» يعملون المكايد للنبي صلى الله عليه وسلم.
Saheeh InternationalBut I am planning a plan
Yusuf AliAnd I am planning a scheme
«وأكيد كيدا» أستدرجهم من حيث لا يعلمون.
Saheeh InternationalSo allow time for the disbelievers. Leave them awhile
Yusuf AliTherefore grant a delay to the Unbelievers: Give respite to them gently (for awhile)
«فمهِّل» يا محمد «الكافرين أمهلهم» تأكيد حسَّنهُ مخالفة اللفظ، أي أنظرهم «رويدا» قليلا وهو مصدر مؤكد لمعنى العامل مصغر رود أو أرواد على الترخيم وقد أخذهم الله تعالى ببدر ونسخ الإمهال بآية السيف، أي الأمر بالقتال والجهاد.
