91. Ash-Shams سُورَةُ الشَّمۡسِ

Saheeh InternationalBy the sun and its brightness
Yusuf AliBy the Sun and his (glorious) splendour
«والشمس وضحاها» ضوؤها.

Saheeh InternationalAnd [by] the moon when it follows it
Yusuf AliBy the Moon as she follows him
«والقمر إذا تلاها» تبعها طالعا عند غروبها.

Saheeh InternationalAnd [by] the day when it displays it
Yusuf AliBy the Day as it shows up (the Sun's) glory
«والنهار إذا جلاها» بارتفاعه.
Diyanet İşleri MealiOnu bürüyen geceye
Saheeh InternationalAnd [by] the night when it covers it
Yusuf AliBy the Night as it conceals it
«والليل إذا يغشاها» يغطيها بظلمته وإذا في الثلاثة لمجرد الظرفية والعامل فيها فعل القسم.
Diyanet İşleri MealiGöğe ve onu yapana
Saheeh InternationalAnd [by] the sky and He who constructed it
Yusuf AliBy the Firmament and its (wonderful) structure
«والسماء وما بناها».

Saheeh InternationalAnd [by] the earth and He who spread it
Yusuf AliBy the Earth and its (wide) expanse
«والأرض وما طحاها» بسطها.
Diyanet İşleri MealiKişiye ve onu şekillendirene
Saheeh InternationalAnd [by] the soul and He who proportioned it
Yusuf AliBy the Soul, and the proportion and order given to it
«ونفس» بمعنى نفوس «وما سوَّاها» في الخلقة وما في الثلاثة مصدرية أو بمعنى من.
Diyanet İşleri MealiSonra da ona iyilik ve kötülük kabiliyeti verene and olsun ki
Saheeh InternationalAnd inspired it [with discernment of] its wickedness and its righteousness
Yusuf AliAnd its enlightenment as to its wrong and its right
«فألهمها فجورها وتقواها» بيَّن لها طريق الخير والشر وأخر التقوى رعاية لرؤوس الآي وجواب القسم:
Diyanet İşleri MealiKendini arıtan saadete ermiştir
Saheeh InternationalHe has succeeded who purifies it
Yusuf AliTruly he succeeds that purifies it
«قد أفلح» حذفت منه اللام لطول الكلام «مَنْ زكَّاها» طهرها من الذنوب.
Diyanet İşleri MealiKendini fenalıklara gömen kimse de ziyana uğramıştır
Saheeh InternationalAnd he has failed who instills it [with corruption]
Yusuf AliAnd he fails that corrupts it
«وقد خاب» خسر «مَنْ دسَّاها» أخفاها بالمعصية وأصله دسها أبدلت السين الثانية ألفا تخفيفا.
Diyanet İşleri MealiSemud milleti, içlerinden en azgını ileri atılınca, azgınlığı yüzünden peygamberleri yalanladı
Saheeh InternationalThamud denied [their prophet] by reason of their transgression
Yusuf AliThe Thamud (people) rejected (their prophet) through their inordinate wrong-doing
«كذَّبت ثمود» رسولها صالحا «بطغواها» بسبب طغيانها.

Saheeh InternationalWhen the most wretched of them was sent forth
Yusuf AliBehold, the most wicked man among them was deputed (for impiety)
«إذ انبعث» أسرع «أشقاها» واسمه قدار إلى عقر الناقة برضاهم.
Diyanet İşleri MealiAllah'ın peygamberi onlara, Allah'ın devesini göstermiş ve: "Allah'ın bu devesine ve onun su hakkına dokunmayın" demişti
Saheeh InternationalAnd the messenger of Allah [Salih] said to them, "[Do not harm] the she-camel of Allah or [prevent her from] her drink
Yusuf AliBut the Apostle of God said to them: "It is a She-camel of God! And (bar her not from) having her drink
«فقال لهم رسول الله» صالح «ناقة الله» أي ذروها «وسقياها» شربها في يومها وكان لها يوم ولهم يوم.
Diyanet İşleri MealiOnu yalanladılar ve deveyi boğazladılar. Bunun üzerine Rableri, suçlarından dolayı onların üzerine katmerli azap indirdi; yerle bir etti onları
Saheeh InternationalBut they denied him and hamstrung her. So their Lord brought down upon them destruction for their sin and made it equal [upon all of them]
Yusuf AliThen they rejected him (as a false prophet), and they hamstrung her. So their Lord, on account of their crime, obliterated their traces and made them equal (in destruction, high and low)
«فكذبوه» في قوله ذلك عن الله المرتب عليه نزول العذاب بهم إن خالفوه «فعقروها» قتلوها ليسلم لهم ماء شربها «فدمدم» أطبق «عليهم ربهم» العذاب «بذنبهم فسواها» أي الدمدمة عليهم، أي عمهم بها فلم يفلت منهم أحد.
Diyanet İşleri MealiBu işin sonundan O'nun korkusu yoktur
Saheeh InternationalAnd He does not fear the consequence thereof
Yusuf AliAnd for Him is no fear of its consequences
«ولا» بالواو والفاء «يخاف عقباها» تبعتها.
