96. Al-Alaq سُورَةُ العَلَقِ
Yusuf AliProclaim! (or read!) in the name of thy Lord and Cherisher, Who created
Saheeh InternationalRecite in the name of your Lord who created
«اقرأ» أوجد القراءة مبتدئا «باسم ربك الذي خلق» الخلائق.
Yusuf AliCreated man, out of a (mere) clot of congealed blood
Saheeh InternationalCreated man from a clinging substance
«خلق الإنسان» الجنس «من علق» جمع علقة وهي القطعة اليسيرة من الدم الغليظ.
Yusuf AliProclaim! And thy Lord is Most Bountiful
Saheeh InternationalRecite, and your Lord is the most Generous
«اقرأ» تأكيد للأول «وربك الأكرم» الذي لا يوازيه كريم، حال من الضمير اقرأ.
Yusuf AliHe Who taught (the use of) the pen
Saheeh InternationalWho taught by the pen
«الذي علم» الخط «بالقلم» وأول من خط به إدريس عليه السلام.
Yusuf AliTaught man that which he knew not
Saheeh InternationalTaught man that which he knew not
«علم الإنسان» الجنس «ما لم يعلم» قبل تعليمه الهدى والكتابة والصناعة وغيرها.
Yusuf AliDay, but man doth transgress all bounds
Saheeh InternationalNo! [But] indeed, man transgresses
«كلا» حقا «إنَّ الإنسان ليطغى».
Yusuf AliIn that he looketh upon himself as self-sufficient
Saheeh InternationalBecause he sees himself self-sufficient
«أن رآه» أي نفسه «استغنى» بالمال، نزل في أبي جهل، ورأى علمية واستغنى مفعول ثان وأن رآه مفعول له.
Yusuf AliVerily, to thy Lord is the return (of all)
Saheeh InternationalIndeed, to your Lord is the return
«إن إلى ربك» يا إنسان «الرجعى» أي الرجوع تخويف له فيجازي الطاغي بما يستحقه.
Yusuf AliSeest thou one who forbids
Saheeh InternationalHave you seen the one who forbids
«أرأيت» في الثلاثة مواضع للتعجب «الذي ينهي» هو أبو جهل.
Yusuf AliA votary when he (turns) to pray
Saheeh InternationalA servant when he prays
«عبدا» هو النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم «إذا صلّى».
Yusuf AliSeest thou if he is on (the road of) Guidance
Saheeh InternationalHave you seen if he is upon guidance
«أرأيت إن كان» المنهي «على الهدى».
Yusuf AliOr enjoins Righteousness
Saheeh InternationalOr enjoins righteousness
«أو» للتقسيم «أمر بالتقوى».
Yusuf AliSeest thou if he denies (Truth) and turns away
Saheeh InternationalHave you seen if he denies and turns away
«أرأيت إن كذب» أي الناهي النبي «وتولى» عن الإيمان.
Yusuf AliKnoweth he not that God doth see
Saheeh InternationalDoes he not know that Allah sees
«ألم يعلم بأن الله يرى» ما صدر منه، أي يعلمه فيجازيه عليه، أي اعجب منه يا مخاطب من حيث نهيه عن الصلاة ومن حيث أن المنهي على الهدى آمر بالتقوى ومن حيث أن الناهي مكذب متولٍ عن الإيمان.
Yusuf AliLet him beware! If he desist not, We will drag him by the forelock
Saheeh InternationalNo! If he does not desist, We will surely drag him by the forelock
«كلا» ردع له «لئن» لام قسم «لم ينته» عما هو عليه من الكفر «لنسفعا بالناصية» لنجرنَّ بناصيته غلى النار.
Yusuf AliA lying, sinful forelock
Saheeh InternationalA lying, sinning forelock
«ناصية» بدل نكرة من معرفة «كاذبة خاطئة» وصفها بذلك مجازًا والمراد صاحبها.
Yusuf AliThen, let him call (for help) to his council (of comrades)
Saheeh InternationalThen let him call his associates
«فليدع ناديه» أي أهل ناديه وهو المجلس ينتدى يتحدث فيه القوم وكان قال للنبي صلى الله عليه وسلم لما انتهره حيث نهاه عن الصلاة: لقد علمت ما بها رجل أكثر ناديا مني لأملأنَّ عليك هذا الوادي إن شئت خيلا جردا ورجالا مردا.
Yusuf AliWe will call on the angels of punishment (to deal with him)
Saheeh InternationalWe will call the angels of Hell
(سندع الزبانية) الملائكة الغلاظ الشداد لإهلاكه كما في الحديث "" لو دعا ناديه لأخذته الزبانية عيانا "".
Yusuf AliDay, heed him not: But bow down in adoration, and bring thyself the closer (to God)
Saheeh InternationalNo! Do not obey him. But prostrate and draw near [to Allah]
«كلا» ردع له «لا تطعه» يا محمد في ترك الصلاة «واسجد» صلِّ لله «واقترب» منه بطاعته.
