Saheeh InternationalBut they wonder that there has come to them a warner from among themselves, and the disbelievers say, "This is an amazing thing
Yusuf AliBut they wonder that there has come to them a Warner from among themselves. So the Unbelievers say: "This is a wonderful thing
«بل عجبوا أن جاءهم منذر منهم» رسول من أنفسهم يخوّفهم بالنار بعد البعث «فقال الكافرون هذا» الإنذار «شيء عجيب».

Yusuf AliWhat! When we die and become dust, (shall we live again?) That is a (sort of) return far (from our understanding)
«أإذا» بتحقيق الهمزتين وتسهيل الثانية وإدخال ألف بينهما على الوجهين «متنا وكنا ترابا» نرجع «ذلك رجع بعيد» في غاية البعد.

Saheeh InternationalWe know what the earth diminishes of them, and with Us is a retaining record

«قد علمنا ما تنقص الأرض» تأكل «منهم وعندنا كتاب حفيظ» هو اللوح المحفوظ فيه جميع الأشياء المقدرة.

«بل كذبوا بالحق» بالقرآن «لما جاءهم فهم» في شأن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم والقرآن «في أمر مريج» مضطرب قالوا مرة: ساحر وسحر، ومرة: شاعر وشعر، ومرة: كاهن وكهانة.
Diyanet İşleri MealiOnlar, üstlerindeki göğü nasıl yapmışız, süslemişizdir bir bakmazlar mı? Onda hiçbir çatlak da yoktur
Saheeh InternationalHave they not looked at the heaven above them - how We structured it and adorned it and [how] it has no rifts
Yusuf AliDo they not look at the sky above them?- How We have made it and adorned it, and there are no flaws in it
«أفلم ينظروا» بعيونهم معتبرين بعقولهم حين أنكروا البعث «إلى السماء» كائنة «فوقهم كيف بنيناها» بلا عمد «وزيناها» بالكواكب «وما لها من فروج» شقوق تعيبها.

Saheeh InternationalAnd the earth - We spread it out and cast therein firmly set mountains and made grow therein [something] of every beautiful kind
Yusuf AliAnd the earth- We have spread it out, and set thereon mountains standing firm, and produced therein every kind of beautiful growth (in pairs)
«والأرض» معطوف على موضع إلى السماء، كيف «مددناها» دحوناها على وجه الماء «وألقينا فيها رواسي» جبالا تثبتها «وأنبتنا فيها من كل زوج» صنف «بهيج» يبهج به لحسنه.

«تبصرة» مفعول له، أي فعلنا ذلك تبصيرا منا «وذكرى» تذكيرا «لكل عبد منيب» رجّاع إلى طاعتنا.

Saheeh InternationalAnd We have sent down blessed rain from the sky and made grow thereby gardens and grain from the harvest
Yusuf AliAnd We send down from the sky rain charted with blessing, and We produce therewith gardens and Grain for harvests
«ونزلنا من السماء ماءً مباركا» كثير البركة «فأنبتنا به جنات» بساتين «وحب» الزرع «الحصيد» المحصود.

«والنخل باسقات» طوالا حال مقدرة «لها طلع نضيد» متراكب بعضه فوق بعض.

Saheeh InternationalAs provision for the servants, and We have given life thereby to a dead land. Thus is the resurrection
Yusuf AliAs sustenance for (God's) Servants;- and We give (new) life therewith to land that is dead: Thus will be the Resurrection
«رزقا للعباد» مفعول له «وأحيينا به بلدة ميتا» يستوي فيه المذكر والمؤنث «كذلك» أي مثل هذا الإحياء «الخروج» من القبور فكيف تنكرونه والاستفهام للتقرير والمعنى أنهم نظروا وعلموا ما ذكر.

«كذبت قبلهم قوم نوح» تأنيث الفعل بمعنى قوم «وأصحاب الرس» هي بئر كانوا مقيمين عليها بمواشيهم يعبدون الأصنام ونبيهم: قيل حنظلة بن صفوان وقيل غيره «وثمود» قوم صالح.

Saheeh InternationalAnd the companions of the thicket and the people of Tubba'. All denied the messengers, so My threat was justly fulfilled
Yusuf AliThe Companions of the Wood, and the People of Tubba'; each one (of them) rejected the apostles, and My warning was duly fulfilled (in them)
«وأصحاب الأيكة» الغيضة قوم شعيب «وقوم تُبَّع» هو ملك كان باليمن أسلم ودعا قومه إلى الإسلام فكذبوه «كل» من المذكورين «كذب الرسل» كقريش «فحق وعيد» وجب نزول العذاب على الجميع فلا يضيق صدرك من كفر قريش بك.
Diyanet İşleri MealiBiz ilk yaratışta yorulduk mu? Hayır; onlar yeniden yaratılmaktan şüphe etmektedirler
Saheeh InternationalDid We fail in the first creation? But they are in confusion over a new creation
Yusuf AliWere We then weary with the first Creation, that they should be in confused doubt about a new Creation
«أفعيينا بالخلق الأول» أي لم نعي به فلا نعيا بالإعادة «بل هم في لبس» شك «من خلق جديد» وهو البعث.
Diyanet İşleri MealiAnd olsun ki insanı Biz yarattık; nefsinin kendisine fısıldadıklarını biliriz; Biz ona şah damarından daha yakınız
Saheeh InternationalAnd We have already created man and know what his soul whispers to him, and We are closer to him than [his] jugular vein
Yusuf AliIt was We Who created man, and We know what dark suggestions his soul makes to him: for We are nearer to him than (his) jugular vein
«ولقد خلقنا الإنسان ونعلم» حال بتقدير نحن «ما» مصدرية «توسوس» تحدث «به» الباء زائدة أو للتعدية والضمير للإنسان «نفسه ونحن أقرب إليه» بالعلم «من حبل الوريد» الإضافة للبيان والوريدان عرقان بصفحتي العنق.
Diyanet İşleri MealiSağında ve solunda, onunla beraber oturan iki alıcı melek, yanında hazır birer gözcü olarak söylediği her sözü zaptederler
Saheeh InternationalWhen the two receivers receive, seated on the right and on the left
Yusuf AliBehold, two (guardian angels) appointed to learn (his doings) learn (and noted them), one sitting on the right and one on the left
«إذ» منصوبة باذكر مقدرا «يتلقى» يأخذ ويثبت «المتلقيان» الملكان الموكلان بالإنسان ما يعمله «عن اليمين وعن الشمال» منه «قعيد» أي قاعدان وهو مبتدأ خبره ما قبله.

Saheeh InternationalMan does not utter any word except that with him is an observer prepared [to record]
Yusuf AliNot a word does he utter but there is a sentinel by him, ready (to note it)
«ما يلفظ من قول إلا لديه رقيب» حافظ «عتيد» حاضر وكل منهما بمعنى المثنى.
Diyanet İşleri MealiÖlüm sarhoşluğu gerçekten gelir, ey insan, işte bu senin öteden beri korkup kaçtığın şeydir
Saheeh InternationalAnd the intoxication of death will bring the truth; that is what you were trying to avoid
Yusuf AliAnd the stupor of death will bring Truth (before his eyes): "This was the thing which thou wast trying to escape
«وجاءت سكرة الموت» غمرته وشدته «بالحق» من أمر الآخرة حتى المنكر لها عيانا وهو نفس الشدة «ذلك» أي الموت «ما كنت منه تحيد» تهرب وتفزع.
Diyanet İşleri MealiSura üfürülür. İşte bu geleceği söz verilen gündür
Saheeh InternationalAnd the Horn will be blown. That is the Day of [carrying out] the threat
Yusuf AliAnd the Trumpet shall be blown: that will be the Day whereof Warning (had been given)
«ونفخ في الصور» للبعث «ذلك» أي يوم النفخ «يوم الوعيد» للكفار بالعذاب.

Saheeh InternationalAnd every soul will come, with it a driver and a witness
Yusuf AliAnd there will come forth every soul: with each will be an (angel) to drive, and an (angel) to bear witness
«وجاءت» فيه «كل نفس» إلى المحشر «معها سائق» ملك يسوقها إليه «وشهيد» يشهد عليها بعملها وهو الأيدي والأرجل وغيرها ويقال للكافر.
Diyanet İşleri MealiOna: "And olsun ki, sen, bundan gafildin; işte senden gaflet perdesini kaldırdık, bugün artık görüşün keskindir" denir
Saheeh International[It will be said], "You were certainly in unmindfulness of this, and We have removed from you your cover, so your sight, this Day, is sharp
Yusuf Ali(It will be said:) "Thou wast heedless of this; now have We removed thy veil, and sharp is thy sight this Day
«لقد كنت» في الدنيا «في غفلة من هذا» النازل بك اليوم «فكشفنا عنك غطاءك» أزلنا غفلتك بما تشاهده اليوم «فبصرُك اليوم حديد» حاد تدرك به ما أنكرته في الدنيا.
Diyanet İşleri MealiYanındaki melek: "İşte bu yanımdaki hazırdır" der
Saheeh InternationalAnd his companion, [the angel], will say, "This [record] is what is with me, prepared
Yusuf AliAnd his Companion will say: "Here is (his Record) ready with me
«وقال قرينه» الملك الموكل به «هذا ما» أي الذي «لديَّ عتيد» حاضر فيقال لمالك.
Diyanet İşleri MealiAllah: "Ey sürücü ve şahit! Her inatçı inkarcıyı, iyiliklere boyuna engel olan, mütecaviz, şüpheye düşüren, Allah'ın yanında başka tanrı benimseyen kişiyi cehenneme atın, onu çetin bir azaba sokun" buyurur
Saheeh International[Allah will say], "Throw into Hell every obstinate disbeliever
Yusuf Ali(The sentence will be:) "Throw, throw into Hell every contumacious Rejecter (of God)
«ألقيا في جهنم» أي: ألق ألق أو ألقين وبه قرأ الحسن فأبدلت النون ألفا «كلَّ كفار عنيد» معاند للحق.

Saheeh InternationalPreventer of good, aggressor, and doubter
Yusuf AliWho forbade what was good, transgressed all bounds, cast doubts and suspicions
«منَّاع للخير» كالزكاة «معتد» ظالم «مريب» شاك في دينه.
Diyanet İşleri MealiAllah: "Ey sürücü ve şahit! Her inatçı inkarcıyı, iyiliklere boyuna engel olan, mütecaviz, şüpheye düşüren, Allah'ın yanında başka tanrı benimseyen kişiyi cehenneme atın, onu çetin bir azaba sokun" buyurur
Saheeh InternationalWho made [as equal] with Allah another deity; then throw him into the severe punishment
Yusuf AliWho set up another god beside God: Throw him into a severe penalty
«الذي جعل مع الله إلها آخر» مبتدأ ضُمن معنى الشرط خبره «فألقياه في العذاب الشديد» تفسيره مثل ما تقدم.
Diyanet İşleri MealiYanındaki şeytan: "Rabbimiz! Ben onu azdırmadım, fakat kendisi derin bir sapıklıktaydı" der
Saheeh InternationalHis [devil] companion will say, "Our Lord, I did not make him transgress, but he [himself] was in extreme error
Yusuf AliHis Companion will say: "Our Lord! I did not make him transgress, but he was (himself) far astray
«قال قرينه» الشيطان «ربنا ما أطغيته» أضللته «ولكن كان في ضلال بعيد» فدعوته فاستجاب لي، وقال هو أطغاني بدعائه له.
Diyanet İşleri MealiAllah: "Benim katımda çekişmeyin; size bunu önceden bildirmiştim. Benim katımda söz değişmez; Ben kullara asla zulmetmem" der
Saheeh International[Allah] will say, "Do not dispute before Me, while I had already presented to you the warning
Yusuf AliHe will say: "Dispute not with each other in My Presence: I had already in advance sent you Warning
«قال» تعالى «لا تختصموا لديَّ» أي ما ينفع الخصام هنا «وقد قدمت إليكم» في الدنيا «بالوعيد» بالعذاب في الآخرة لو لم تؤمنوا ولا بد منه.
Diyanet İşleri MealiAllah: "Benim katımda çekişmeyin; size bunu önceden bildirmiştim. Benim katımda söz değişmez; Ben kullara asla zulmetmem" der
Saheeh InternationalThe word will not be changed with Me, and never will I be unjust to the servants
Yusuf AliThe Word changes not before Me, and I do not the least injustice to My Servants
(ما يبدل) يغير (القول لدي) في ذلك (وما أنا بظلام للعبيد) فأعذبهم بغير جرم، وظلام بمعنى ذي ظلم لقوله "" لا ظلم "".
Diyanet İşleri MealiO gün cehenneme: "Doldun mu?" deriz, o: "Daha var mı?" der
Saheeh InternationalOn the Day We will say to Hell, "Have you been filled?" and it will say, "Are there some more
Yusuf AliOne Day We will ask Hell, "Art thou filled to the full?" It will say, "Are there any more (to come)
«يوم» ناصبه ظلام «نقول» بالنون والياء «لجهنم هل امتلأت» استفهام لوعده بمثلها «وتقول» بصورة الاستفهام كالسؤال «هل من مزيد» أي لا أسع غير ما امتلأت به، أي قد امتلأت.
Diyanet İşleri MealiCennet, Allah'a karşı gelmekten sakınanlara yaklaştırılır, zaten uzakta değildir
Saheeh InternationalAnd Paradise will be brought near to the righteous, not far
Yusuf AliAnd the Garden will be brought nigh to the Righteous,- no more a thing distant
«وأزلفت الجنة» قربت «للمتقين» مكانا «غير بعيد» منهم فيرونها ويقال لهم.
Diyanet İşleri MealiOnlara: "İşte bu cennet, Allah'a yönelen, O'nun buyruklarına riayet eden; görmediği Rahman'dan korkan, Allah'a yönelmiş bir kalble gelen sizlere, hepinize söz verilen yerdir. Oraya esenlikle girin; işte sonsuzluk günü budur" denir
Saheeh International[It will be said], "This is what you were promised - for every returner [to Allah] and keeper [of His covenant]
Yusuf Ali(A voice will say:) "This is what was promised for you,- for every one who turned (to God) in sincere repentance, who kept (His Law)
«هذا» المرئي «ما توعدون» بالتاء والياء في الدنيا ويبدل من للمتقين قوله «لكل أوَّاب» رجّاع إلى طاعة الله «حفيظ» حافظ لحدوده.
Diyanet İşleri MealiOnlara: "İşte bu cennet, Allah'a yönelen, O'nun buyruklarına riayet eden; görmediği Rahman'dan korkan, Allah'a yönelmiş bir kalble gelen sizlere, hepinize söz verilen yerdir. Oraya esenlikle girin; işte sonsuzluk günü budur" denir
Saheeh InternationalWho feared the Most Merciful unseen and came with a heart returning [in repentance]
Yusuf AliWho feared (God) Most Gracious Unseen, and brought a heart turned in devotion (to Him)
«من خشي الرحمن بالغيب» خافه ولم يره «وجاء بقلب منيب» مقبل على طاعته، ويقال للمتقين أيضا.
Diyanet İşleri MealiOnlara: "İşte bu cennet, Allah'a yönelen, O'nun buyruklarına riayet eden; görmediği Rahman'dan korkan, Allah'a yönelmiş bir kalble gelen sizlere, hepinize söz verilen yerdir. Oraya esenlikle girin; işte sonsuzluk günü budur" denir
Saheeh InternationalEnter it in peace. This is the Day of Eternity
Yusuf AliEnter ye therein in Peace and Security; this is a Day of Eternal Life
«ادخلوها بسلام» سالمين من كل مخوف أو مع سلام، أي سلموا وادخلوا «ذلك» اليوم الذي حصل فيه الدخول «يومُ الخلود» الدوام في الجنة.

Saheeh InternationalThey will have whatever they wish therein, and with Us is more
Yusuf AliThere will be for them therein all that they wish,- and more besides in Our Presence
«لهم ما يشاءُون فيها ولدينا مزيد» زيادة على ما عملوا وطلبوا.
Diyanet İşleri MealiBu inkarcılardan önce, kendilerinden daha kuvvetli olan, diyar diyar dolaşan nice nesilleri yok etmişizdir. Kurtuluşu var mı
Saheeh InternationalAnd how many a generation before them did We destroy who were greater than them in [striking] power and had explored throughout the lands. Is there any place of escape
Yusuf AliBut how many generations before them did We destroy (for their sins),- stronger in power than they? Then did they wander through the land: was there any place of escape (for them)
«وكم أهلكنا قبلهم من قرن» أي أهلكنا قبل كفار قريش قرونا كثيرة من الكفار «هم أشد منهم بطشا» قوة «فنقبوا» فتشوا «في البلاد هل من محيص» لهم أو لغيرهم من الموت فلم يجدوا.
Diyanet İşleri MealiDoğrusu bunda, kalbi olana veya hazır bulunup kulak verene ders vardır
Saheeh InternationalIndeed in that is a reminder for whoever has a heart or who listens while he is present [in mind]
Yusuf AliVerily in this is a Message for any that has a heart and understanding or who gives ear and earnestly witnesses (the truth)
«إن في ذلك» المذكور «لذكرى» لعظة «لمن كان له قلب» عقل «أو ألقى السمع» استمع الوعظ «وهو شهيد» حاضر بالقلب.
Diyanet İşleri MealiAnd olsun ki, gökleri, yeri ve ikisinin arasında bulunanları altı günde yarattık ve Biz bir yorgunluk da duymadık
Saheeh InternationalAnd We did certainly create the heavens and earth and what is between them in six days, and there touched Us no weariness
Yusuf AliWe created the heavens and the earth and all between them in Six Days, nor did any sense of weariness touch Us
(ولقد خلقنا السماوات والأرض وما بينهما في ستة أيام) أولها الأحد وآخرها الجمعة (وما مسنا من لغوب) تعب، نزل ردا على اليهود في قولهم: إن الله استراح يوم السبت وانتفاء التعب عنه لتنزهه تعالى عن صفات المخلوقين ولعدم المماثلة بينه وبين غيره "" إنما أمره إذا أراد شيئا أن يقول له كن فيكون "".
Diyanet İşleri MealiSöylediklerine sabret; Rabbini, güneşin doğmasından önce ve batışından önce överek tesbih et
Saheeh InternationalSo be patient, [O Muhammad], over what they say and exalt [Allah] with praise of your Lord before the rising of the sun and before its setting
Yusuf AliBear, then, with patience, all that they say, and celebrate the praises of thy Lord, before the rising of the sun and before (its) setting
«فاصبر» خطاب للنبي صلى الله عليه وسلم «على ما يقولون» أي اليهود وغيرهم من التشبيه والتكذيب «وسبح بحمد ربك» صل حامدا «قبل طلوع الشمس» أي صلاة الصبح «وقبل الغروب» أي صلاة الظهر والعصر.

Saheeh InternationalAnd [in part] of the night exalt Him and after prostration
Yusuf AliAnd during part of the night, (also,) celebrate His praises, and (so likewise) after the postures of adoration
«ومن الليل فسبحه» أي صل العشاءين «وأَِدبار السجود» بفتح الهمزة جمع دبر وكسرها مصدر أدبر، أي صل النوافل المسنونة عقب الفرائض وقيل المراد حقيقة التسبيح في هذه الأوقات ملابسا للحمد.

«واستمع» يا مخاطب مقولي «يوم يناد المناد» هو إسرافيل «من مكان قريب» من السماء وهو صخرة بيت المقدس أقرب موضع من الأرض إلى السماء يقول: أيتها العظام البالية والأوصال المتقطعة واللحوم المتمزقة والشعور المتفرقة إن الله يأمركن أن تجتمعن لفصل القضاء.

«يوم» بدل من يوم قبله «يسمعون» أي الخلق كلهم «الصيحة بالحق» بالبعث وهي النفخة الثانية من إسرافيل ويحتمل أن تكون قبل ندائه وبعده «ذلك» أي يوم النداء والسماع «يوم الخروج» من القبور وناصب يوم ينادي مقدرا، أي يعلمون عاقبة تكذيبهم.

Yusuf AliThe Day when the Earth will be rent asunder, from (men) hurrying out: that will be a gathering together,- quite easy for Us
«يوم» بدل من يوم قبله وما بينهما اعتراض «تشقق» بتخفيف الشين وتشديدها بإدغام التاء الثانية في الأصل فيها «الأرض عنهم سراعا» جمع سريع حال من مقدر، أي فيخرجون مسرعين «ذلك حشر علينا يسير» فيه فصل بين الموصوف والصفة بمتعلقها للاختصاص وهو لا يضر وذلك إشارة إلى معنى الحشر المخبر به عنه، وهو الإحياء بعد الفناء والجمع للعرض والحساب.

Yusuf AliWe know best what they say; and thou art not one to overawe them by force. So admonish with the Qur'an such as fear My Warning
«نحن أعلم بما يقولون» أي كفار قريش «وما أنت عليهم بجبار» تجبرهم على الإيمان وهذا قبل الأمر بالجهاد «فذكِّر بالقرآن من يخاف وعيد» وهم المؤمنون.
