85:1 📚 8

وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلْبُرُوجِ

Yusuf AliBy the sky, (displaying) the Zodiacal Signs

85:2

وَٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْمَوْعُودِ

Yusuf AliBy the promised Day (of Judgment)

85:3

وَشَاهِدٍ وَمَشْهُودٍ

Yusuf AliBy one that witnesses, and the subject of the witness

85:4

قُتِلَ أَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلْأُخْدُودِ

Yusuf AliWoe to the makers of the pit (of fire)

85:5

ٱلنَّارِ ذَاتِ ٱلْوَقُودِ

Yusuf AliFire supplied (abundantly) with fuel

85:6

إِذْ هُمْ عَلَيْهَا قُعُودٌ

Yusuf AliBehold! they sat over against the (fire)

85:7

وَهُمْ عَلَىٰ مَا يَفْعَلُونَ بِٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ شُهُودٌ

Yusuf AliAnd they witnessed (all) that they were doing against the Believers

85:8

وَمَا نَقَمُواْ مِنْهُمْ إِلَّآ أَن يُؤْمِنُواْ بِٱللَّهِ ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلْحَمِيدِ

Yusuf AliAnd they ill-treated them for no other reason than that they believed in God, Exalted in Power, Worthy of all Praise

85:9

ٱلَّذِى لَهُۥ مُلْكُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٲتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ‌ۚ وَٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ شَهِيدٌ

Yusuf AliHim to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth! And God is Witness to all things

85:10 📚 1

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ فَتَنُواْ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنَـٰتِ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَتُوبُواْ فَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ جَهَنَّمَ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ ٱلْحَرِيقِ

Yusuf AliThose who persecute (or draw into temptation) the Believers, men and women, and do not turn in repentance, will have the Penalty of Hell: They will have the Penalty of the Burning Fire

85:11

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ لَهُمْ جَنَّـٰتٌ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُ‌ۚ ذَٲلِكَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْكَبِيرُ

Yusuf AliFor those who believe and do righteous deeds, will be Gardens; beneath which rivers flow: That is the great Salvation, (the fulfilment of all desires)

85:12 📚 4

إِنَّ بَطْشَ رَبِّكَ لَشَدِيدٌ

Yusuf AliTruly strong is the Grip (and Power) of thy Lord

85:13

إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ يُبْدِئُ وَيُعِيدُ

Yusuf AliIt is He Who creates from the very beginning, and He can restore (life)

85:14 📚 1

وَهُوَ ٱلْغَفُورُ ٱلْوَدُودُ

Yusuf AliAnd He is the Oft-Forgiving, Full of Loving-Kindness

85:15 📚 4

ذُو ٱلْعَرْشِ ٱلْمَجِيدُ

Yusuf AliLord of the Throne of Glory
