51. Adh-Dhaariyat سُورَةُ الذَّارِيَاتِ
Saheeh InternationalBy those [winds] scattering [dust] dispersing
Yusuf AliBy the (Winds) that scatter broadcast
«والذاريات» الرياح تذرو التراب وغيره «ذروا» مصدر، ويُقال تذريه ذريا تهب به.
Saheeh InternationalAnd those [clouds] carrying a load [of water]
Yusuf AliAnd those that lift and bear away heavy weights
«فالحاملات» السحب تحمل الماء «وقراً» ثقلا مفعول الحاملات
Saheeh InternationalAnd those [ships] sailing with ease
Yusuf AliAnd those that flow with ease and gentleness
«فالجاريات» السفن تجري على وجه الماء «يُسرا» بسهولة مصدر في موضع الحال، أي ميسرة.
Saheeh InternationalAnd those [angels] apportioning [each] matter
Yusuf AliAnd those that distribute and apportion by Command
«فالمقسمات أمرا» الملائكة تقسم الأرزاق والأمطار وغيرها بين البلاد والعباد.
Saheeh InternationalIndeed, what you are promised is true
Yusuf AliVerily that which ye are promised is true
«إنما توعدون» ما مصدرية، أي وعدهم بالبعث وغيره «لصادق» لوعد صادق.
Saheeh InternationalAnd indeed, the recompense is to occur
Yusuf AliAnd verily Judgment and Justice must indeed come to pass
«وإن الدين» الجزاء بعد الحساب «لواقع» لا محالة.
Saheeh InternationalBy the heaven containing pathways
Yusuf AliBy the Sky with (its) numerous Paths
«والسماء ذات الحبك» جمع حبيكة كطريقة وطريق أي صاحبة الطرق في الخلقة كالطريق في الرمل.
Saheeh InternationalIndeed, you are in differing speech
Yusuf AliTruly ye are in a doctrine discordant
«إنكم» يا أهل مكة في شأن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم والقرآن «لفي قول مختلف» قيل شاعر ساحر كاهن شعر سحر كهانة.
Saheeh InternationalDeluded away from the Qur'an is he who is deluded
Yusuf AliThrough which are deluded (away from the Truth) such as would be deluded
«يؤفك عنه من أفك» صرف عن الهداية في علم الله تعالى.
Saheeh InternationalDestroyed are the falsifiers
Yusuf AliWoe to the falsehood-mongers
«قُتل الخراصون» لعن الكذابون أصحاب القول المختلف.
Saheeh InternationalWho are within a flood [of confusion] and heedless
Yusuf AliThose who (flounder) heedless in a flood of confusion
«الذين هم في غمرة» جهل يغمرهم «ساهون» غافلون عن أمر الآخرة.
Saheeh InternationalThey ask, "When is the Day of Recompense
Yusuf AliThey ask, "When will be the Day of Judgment and Justice
«يسألون» النبي استفهام استهزاء «أيان يوم الدين» أي متى مجيئه وجوابهم: يجيء.
Saheeh International[It is] the Day they will be tormented over the Fire
Yusuf Ali(It will be) a Day when they will be tried (and tested) over the Fire
«يوم هم على النار يفتنون» أي يعذبون فيها ويقال لهم حين التعذيب.
Saheeh International[And will be told], "Taste your torment. This is that for which you were impatient
Yusuf AliTaste ye your trial! This is what ye used to ask to be hastened
«ذوقوا فتنتكم» تعذيبكم «هذا» التعذيب «الذي كنتم به تستعجلون» في الدنيا استهزاء.
Saheeh InternationalIndeed, the righteous will be among gardens and springs
Yusuf AliAs to the Righteous, they will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs
«إن المتقين في جنات» بساتين «وعيون» تجري فيها.
Saheeh InternationalAccepting what their Lord has given them. Indeed, they were before that doers of good
Yusuf AliTaking joy in the things which their Lord gives them, because, before then, they lived a good life
«آخذين» حال من الضمير في خبر إن «ما آتاهم» أعطاهم «ربهم» من الثواب «إنهم كانوا قبل ذلك» أي دخولهم الجنة «محسنين» في الدنيا.
Saheeh InternationalThey used to sleep but little of the night
Yusuf AliThey were in the habit of sleeping but little by night
«كانوا قليلا من الليل ما يهجعون» ينامون، وما زائدة ويهجعون خبر كان وقليلا ظرف، أي ينامون في زمن يسير من الليل ويصلون أكثره.
Saheeh InternationalAnd in the hours before dawn they would ask forgiveness
Yusuf AliAnd in the hour of early dawn, they (were found) praying for Forgiveness
«وبالأسحار هم يستغفرون» يقولون: اللهم اغفر لنا.
Saheeh InternationalAnd from their properties was [given] the right of the [needy] petitioner and the deprived
Yusuf AliAnd in their wealth and possessions (was remembered) the right of the (needy,) him who asked, and him who (for some reason) was prevented (from asking)
«وفي أموالهم حق للسائل والمحروم» الذي لا يسأل لتعففه.
Saheeh InternationalAnd on the earth are signs for the certain [in faith]
Yusuf AliOn the earth are signs for those of assured Faith
«وفي الأرض» من الجبال والبحار والأشجار والثمار والنبات وغيرها «آيات» دلالات على قدرة الله سبحانه وتعالى ووحدانيته «للموقنين».
Saheeh InternationalAnd in yourselves. Then will you not see
Yusuf AliAs also in your own selves: Will ye not then see
«وفي أنفسكم» آيات أيضا من مبدأ خلقكم إلى منتهاه، وما في تركيب خلقكم من العجائب «أفلا تبصرون» ذلك فتستدلون به على صانعه وقدرته.
Saheeh InternationalAnd in the heaven is your provision and whatever you are promised
Yusuf AliAnd in heaven is your Sustenance, as (also) that which ye are promised
«وفي السماء رزقكم» أي المطر المسبب عنه النبات الذي هو رزق «وما توعدون» من المآب والثواب والعقاب أي مكتوب ذلك في السماء.
Saheeh InternationalThen by the Lord of the heaven and earth, indeed, it is truth - just as [sure as] it is that you are speaking
Yusuf AliThen, by the Lord of heaven and earth, this is the very Truth, as much as the fact that ye can speak intelligently to each other
«فورب السماء والأرض إنه» أي ما توعدون «لحق مثلُ ما أنكم تنطقون» برفع مثل صفة، وما مزيدة وبفتح اللام مركبة مع ما، المعنى: مثل نطقكم في حقيقته أي معلوميته عندكم ضرورة صدوره عنكم.
Saheeh InternationalHas there reached you the story of the honored guests of Abraham
Yusuf AliHas the story reached thee, of the honoured guests of Abraham
«هل أتاك» خطاب للنبي صلى الله عليه وسلم «حديث ضيف إبراهيم المكرمين» وهم ملائكة اثنا عشر أو عشرة أو ثلاثة، منهم جبريل.
Saheeh InternationalWhen they entered upon him and said, "[We greet you with] peace." He answered, "[And upon you] peace, [you are] a people unknown
Yusuf AliBehold, they entered his presence, and said: "Peace!" He said, "Peace!" (and thought, "These seem) unusual people
«إذ» ظرف لحديث ضيف «دخلوا عليه فقالوا سلاما» أي هذا اللفظ «قال سلام» أي هذا اللفظ «قوم منكرون» لا نعرفهم قال ذلك في نفسه وهو خبر مبتدأ مقدر أي هؤلاء.
Saheeh InternationalThen he went to his family and came with a fat [roasted] calf
Yusuf AliThen he turned quickly to his household, brought out a fatted calf
(فراغ) مال (إلى أهله) سرا (فجاء بعجل سمين) وفي سورة هود "" بعجل حنيذ "" أي مشوي.
Saheeh InternationalAnd placed it near them; he said, "Will you not eat
Yusuf AliAnd placed it before them.. he said, "Will ye not eat
«فقربه إليهم قال ألا تأكلون» عرض عليهم الأكل فلم يجيبوا.
Saheeh InternationalAnd he felt from them apprehension. They said, "Fear not," and gave him good tidings of a learned boy
Yusuf Ali(When they did not eat), He conceived a fear of them. They said, "Fear not," and they gave him glad tidings of a son endowed with knowledge
«فأوجس» أضمر في نفسه «منهم خيفة قالوا لا تخف» إنا رسل ربك «وبشروه بغلام عليم» ذي علم كثير وهو إسحاق كما ذكر في هود.
Saheeh InternationalAnd his wife approached with a cry [of alarm] and struck her face and said, "[I am] a barren old woman
Yusuf AliBut his wife came forward (laughing) aloud: she smote her forehead and said: "A barren old woman
«فأقبلت امراته» سارة «في صرَّة» صيحة حال، أي جاءت صائحة «فصكت وجهها» لطمته «وقالت عجوز عقيم» لم تلد قط وعمرها تسع وتسعون سنة وعمر إبراهيم مائة سنة، أو عمره مائة وعشرون سنة وعمرها تسعون سنة.
Saheeh InternationalThey said, "Thus has said your Lord; indeed, He is the Wise, the Knowing
Yusuf AliThey said, "Even so has thy Lord spoken: and He is full of Wisdom and Knowledge
«قالوا كذلك» أي مثل قولنا في البشارة «قال ربك إنه هو الحكيم» في صنعه «العليم» بخلقه.
Saheeh International[Abraham] said, "Then what is your business [here], O messengers
Yusuf Ali(Abraham) said: "And what, O ye Messengers, is your errand (now)
«قال فما خطبكم» شأنكم «أيها المرسلون».
Saheeh InternationalThey said, "Indeed, we have been sent to a people of criminals
Yusuf AliThey said, "We have been sent to a people (deep) in sin
«قالوا إنا أرسلنا إلى قوم مجرمين» كافرين هم قوم لوط.
Saheeh InternationalTo send down upon them stones of clay
Yusuf AliTo bring on, on them, (a shower of) stones of clay (brimstone)
«لنرسل عليهم حجارة من طين» مطبوخ بالنار.
Saheeh InternationalMarked in the presence of your Lord for the transgressors
Yusuf AliMarked as from thy Lord for those who trespass beyond bounds
«مُسَوَّمة» معلمة عليها اسم من يْرمى بها «عند ربك» ظرف لها «للمسرفين» بإتيانهم الذكور مع كفرهم.
Saheeh InternationalSo We brought out whoever was in the cities of the believers
Yusuf AliThen We evacuated those of the Believers who were there
«فأخرجنا من كان فيها» أي قرى قوم لوط «من المؤمنين» لإهلاك الكافرين.
Saheeh InternationalAnd We found not within them other than a [single] house of Muslims
Yusuf AliBut We found not there any just (Muslim) persons except in one house
«فما وجدنا فيها غير بيت من المسلمين» وهو لوط وابنتاه وصفوا بالإيمان والإسلام، أي هم مصدقون بقلوبهم عاملون بجوارحهم الطاعات.
Saheeh InternationalAnd We left therein a sign for those who fear the painful punishment
Yusuf AliAnd We left there a Sign for such as fear the Grievous Penalty
«وتركنا فيها» بعد إهلاك الكافرين «آية» علامة على إهلاكهم «للذين يخافون العذاب الأليم» فلا يفعلون مثل فعلهم.
Saheeh InternationalAnd in Moses [was a sign], when We sent him to Pharaoh with clear authority
Yusuf AliAnd in Moses (was another Sign): Behold, We sent him to Pharaoh, with authority manifest
«وفي موسى» معطوف على فيها، المعنى وجعلنا في قصة موسى آية «إذ أرسلناه إلى فرعون» ملتبسا «بسلطان مبين» بحجة واضحة.
Saheeh InternationalBut he turned away with his supporters and said," A magician or a madman
Yusuf AliBut (Pharaoh) turned back with his Chiefs, and said, "A sorcerer, or one possessed
«فتولى» أعرض عن الإيمان «بركنه» مع جنوده لأنهم له كالركن «وقال» لموسى هو «ساحر أو مجنون».
Saheeh InternationalSo We took him and his soldiers and cast them into the sea, and he was blameworthy
Yusuf AliSo We took him and his forces, and threw them into the sea; and his was the blame
«فأخذناه وجنوده فنبذناهم» طرحناهم «في اليم» البحر فغرقوا «وهو» أي فرعون «مُليم» آت بما يلام عليه من تكذيب الرسل ودعوى الربوبية.
Saheeh InternationalAnd in 'Aad [was a sign], when We sent against them the barren wind
Yusuf AliAnd in the 'Ad (people) (was another Sign): Behold, We sent against them the devastating Wind
«وفي» إهلاك «عاد» آية «إذ أرسلنا عليهم الريح العقيم» هي التي لا خير فيها لأنها لا تحمل المطر ولا تلقح الشجر وهي الدبور.
Saheeh InternationalIt left nothing of what it came upon but that it made it like disintegrated ruins
Yusuf AliIt left nothing whatever that it came up against, but reduced it to ruin and rottenness
«ما تذر من شيء» نفس أو مال «أتت عليه إلا جعلته كالرميم» كالبالي المتفتت.
Saheeh InternationalAnd in Thamud, when it was said to them, "Enjoy yourselves for a time
Yusuf AliAnd in the Thamud (was another Sign): Behold, they were told, "Enjoy (your brief day) for a little while
(وفي) إهلاك (ثمود) آية (إذ قيل لهم) بعد عقر الناقة (تمتعوا حتى حين) إلى انقضاء آجالكم كما في آية "" تمتعوا في داركم ثلاثة أيام "".
Saheeh InternationalBut they were insolent toward the command of their Lord, so the thunderbolt seized them while they were looking on
Yusuf AliBut they insolently defied the Command of their Lord: So the stunning noise (of an earthquake) seized them, even while they were looking on
«فعتوْا» تكبروا «عن أمر ربهم» أي عن امتثاله «فأخذتهم الصاعقة» بعد مضي الثلاثة أيام أي الصيحة المهلكة «وهم ينظرون» أي بالنهار.
Saheeh InternationalAnd they were unable to arise, nor could they defend themselves
Yusuf AliThen they could not even stand (on their feet), nor could they help themselves
«فما استطاعوا من قيام» أي ما قدروا على النهوض حين نزول العذاب «وما كانوا منتصرين» على من أهلكهم.
Saheeh InternationalAnd [We destroyed] the people of Noah before; indeed, they were a people defiantly disobedient
Yusuf AliSo were the People of Noah before them for they wickedly transgressed
«وقوم نوح» بالجر عطف على ثمود أي وفى إهلاكهم بما في السماء والأرض آية, وبالنصب أي وأهلكنا قوم نوح «من قبل» أي قبل إهلاك هؤلاء المذكورين «إنهم كانوا قوما فاسقين».
Saheeh InternationalAnd the heaven We constructed with strength, and indeed, We are [its] expander
Yusuf AliWith power and skill did We construct the Firmament: for it is We Who create the vastness of pace
«والسماء بنيناها بأيد» بقوة «وإنا لموسعون» قادرون يقال: أد الرجل يئيد قوي، وأوسع الرجل: صار ذا سعة وقوة.
Saheeh InternationalAnd the earth We have spread out, and excellent is the preparer
Yusuf AliAnd We have spread out the (spacious) earth: How excellently We do spread out
«والأرض فرشناها» مهدناها «فنعم الماهدون» نحن «ومن كل شيء» متعلق بقوله خلقنا زوجين.
Saheeh InternationalAnd of all things We created two mates; perhaps you will remember
Yusuf AliAnd of every thing We have created pairs: That ye may receive instruction
«ومن كل شيء» متعلق بقوله: خلقنا «خلقنا زوجين» صنفين كالذكر والأنثى والسماء والأرض، والشمس والقمر، والسهل والجبل، والصيف والشتاء، والحلو والحامض والنور والظلمة «لعلكم تذكَّرون» بحذف إحدى التاءين من الأصل فتعلمون أن خالق الأزواج فرد فتعبدوه.
Saheeh InternationalSo flee to Allah. Indeed, I am to you from Him a clear warner
Yusuf AliHasten ye then (at once) to God: I am from Him a Warner to you, clear and open
«ففروا إلى الله» أي إلى ثوابه من عقابه بأن تطيعوه ولا تعصوه «إني لكم منه نذير مبين» بيِّن الإنذار.
Saheeh InternationalAnd do not make [as equal] with Allah another deity. Indeed, I am to you from Him a clear warner
Yusuf AliAnd make not another an object of worship with God: I am from Him a Warner to you, clear and open
«ولا تجعلوا مع الله إلها آخر إني لكم منه نذير مبين» يقدر قبل ففروا قل لهم.
Saheeh InternationalSimilarly, there came not to those before them any messenger except that they said, "A magician or a madman
Yusuf AliSimilarly, no apostle came to the Peoples before them, but they said (of him) in like manner, "A sorcerer, or one possessed
«كذلك ما أتى الذين من قبلهم من رسول إلا قالوا» هو «ساحر أو مجنون» أي مثل تكذيبهم لك بقولهم إنك ساحر أو مجنون تكذيب الأمم قبلهم رسلهم بقولهم ذلك.
Saheeh InternationalDid they suggest it to them? Rather, they [themselves] are a transgressing people
Yusuf AliIs this the legacy they have transmitted, one to another? Nay, they are themselves a people transgressing beyond bounds
«أتواصوْا» كلهم «به» استفهام بمعنى النفي «بل هم قوم طاغون» جمعهم على هذا القول طغيانهم.
Saheeh InternationalSo leave them, [O Muhammad], for you are not to be blamed
Yusuf AliSo turn away from them: not thine is the blame
«فتولَّ» أعرض «عنهم فما أنت بملوم» لأنك بلغتهم الرسالة.
Saheeh InternationalAnd remind, for indeed, the reminder benefits the believers
Yusuf AliBut teach (thy Message) for teaching benefits the Believers
«وذكر» عظ بالقرآن «فإن الذكرى تنفع المؤمنين» من علم اللهُ تعالى أنه يؤمن.
Saheeh InternationalAnd I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me
Yusuf AliI have only created Jinns and men, that they may serve Me
«وما خلقت الجن والإنس إلا ليعبدون» ولا ينافي ذلك عدم عبادة الكافرين، لأن الغاية لا يلزم وجودها كما في قولك: بريت هذا القلم لأكتب به، فإنك قد لا تكتب به.
Saheeh InternationalI do not want from them any provision, nor do I want them to feed Me
Yusuf AliNo Sustenance do I require of them, nor do I require that they should feed Me
«ما أريد منهم من رزق» لي ولأنفسهم وغيرهم «وما أريد أن يطعمون» ولا أنفسهم ولا غيرهم.
Saheeh InternationalIndeed, it is Allah who is the [continual] Provider, the firm possessor of strength
Yusuf AliFor God is He Who gives (all) Sustenance,- Lord of Power,- Steadfast (for ever)
«إن الله هو الرزاق ذو القوة المتين» الشديد.
Saheeh InternationalAnd indeed, for those who have wronged is a portion [of punishment] like the portion of their predecessors, so let them not impatiently urge Me
Yusuf AliFor the Wrong-doers, their portion is like unto the portion of their fellows (of earlier generations): then let them not ask Me to hasten (that portion)
«فإن للذين ظلموا» أنفسهم بالكفر من أهل مكة وغيرهم «ذنوبا» نصيبا من العذاب «مثل ذنوب» نصيب «أصحابهم» الهالكين قبلهم «فلا يستعجلون» بالعذاب إن أخرتهم إلى يوم القيامة.
Saheeh InternationalAnd woe to those who have disbelieved from their Day which they are promised
Yusuf AliWoe, then, to the Unbelievers, on account of that Day of theirs which they have been promised
«فويل» شدة عذاب «للذين كفروا من» في «يومهم الذي يوعدون» أي يوم القيامة.
