Saheeh InternationalAlif, Lam, Ra. These are the verses of the wise Book

[But] the disbelievers say, "Indeed, this is an obvious magician

Yusuf AliIs it a matter of wonderment to men that We have sent Our inspiration to a man from among themselves?- that he should warn mankind (of their danger), and give the good news to the Believers that they have before their Lord the lofty rank of tr uth. (But) say the Unbelievers: "This is indeed an evident sorcerer

Saheeh InternationalIndeed, your Lord is Allah, who created the heavens and the earth in six days and then established Himself above the Throne, arranging the matter [of His creation]. There is no intercessor except after His permission. That is Allah, your Lord, so worship Him. Then will you not remember

Yusuf AliVerily your Lord is God, who created the heavens and the earth in six days, and is firmly established on the throne (of authority), regulating and governing all things. No intercessor (can plead with Him) except after His leave (hath been obta ined). This is God your Lord; Him therefore serve ye: will ye not receive admonition

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırRabbiniz o Allah'dır ki, gökleri ve yeri altı günde yarattı, sonra arş üzerine istiva etti (onu hükmü altına aldı), işi tedbir eyliyor. O'nun izni olmaksızın hiç kimse şefaatçi olamaz. İşte Rabbiniz olan Allah budur. O'na ibadet ediniz! Hâlâ düşünüp ibret almayacak mısınız

Saheeh InternationalTo Him is your return all together. [It is] the promise of Allah [which is] truth. Indeed, He begins the [process of] creation and then repeats it that He may reward those who have believed and done righteous deeds, in justice. But those who disbelieved will have a drink of scalding water and a painful punishment for what they used to deny

Yusuf AliTo Him will be your return- of all of you. The promise of God is true and sure. It is He Who beginneth the process of creation, and repeateth it, that He may reward with justice those who believe and work righteousness; but those who reject Hi m will have draughts of boiling fluids, and a penalty grievous, because they did reject Him

Saheeh InternationalIt is He who made the sun a shining light and the moon a derived light and determined for it phases - that you may know the number of years and account [of time]. Allah has not created this except in truth. He details the signs for a people who know

Yusuf AliIt is He Who made the sun to be a shining glory and the moon to be a light (of beauty), and measured out stages for her; that ye might know the number of years and the count (of time). Nowise did God create this but in truth and righteousness. (Thus) doth He explain His Signs in detail, for those who understand

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırO Allah'dır ki, senelerin sayısını ve hesabını bilesiniz diye güneşi bir ışık, ayı da bir nur yaptı. Ve aya menziller tayin etti. Allah bunu hak olarak yarattı. O, bilecek olan bir kavim için âyetlerini ayrıntılı olarak açıklar

Saheeh InternationalIndeed, in the alternation of the night and the day and [in] what Allah has created in the heavens and the earth are signs for a people who fear Allah

Yusuf AliVerily, in the alternation of the night and the day, and in all that God hath created, in the heavens and the earth, are signs for those who fear Him

Saheeh InternationalIndeed, those who do not expect the meeting with Us and are satisfied with the life of this world and feel secure therein and those who are heedless of Our signs

Yusuf AliThose who rest not their hope on their meeting with Us, but are pleased and satisfied with the life of the present, and those who heed not Our Signs

Saheeh InternationalFor those their refuge will be the Fire because of what they used to earn

Yusuf AliTheir abode is the Fire, because of the (evil) they earned

Saheeh InternationalIndeed, those who have believed and done righteous deeds - their Lord will guide them because of their faith. Beneath them rivers will flow in the Gardens of Pleasure

Yusuf AliThose who believe, and work righteousness,- their Lord will guide them because of their faith: beneath them will flow rivers in gardens of bliss

Saheeh InternationalTheir call therein will be, "Exalted are You, O Allah," and their greeting therein will be, "Peace." And the last of their call will be, "Praise to Allah, Lord of the worlds

Yusuf Ali(This will be) their cry therein: "Glory to Thee, O God!" And "Peace" will be their greeting therein! and the close of their cry will be: "Praise be to God, the Cherisher and Sustainer of the worlds

Saheeh InternationalAnd if Allah was to hasten for the people the evil [they invoke] as He hastens for them the good, their term would have been ended for them. But We leave the ones who do not expect the meeting with Us, in their transgression, wandering blindly

Yusuf AliIf God were to hasten for men the ill (they have earned) as they would fain hasten on the good,- then would their respite be settled at once. But We leave those who rest not their hope on their meeting with Us, in their trespasses, wandering in distraction to and fro

Saheeh InternationalAnd when affliction touches man, he calls upon Us, whether lying on his side or sitting or standing; but when We remove from him his affliction, he continues [in disobedience] as if he had never called upon Us to [remove] an affliction that touched him. Thus is made pleasing to the transgressors that which they have been doing

Yusuf AliWhen trouble toucheth a man, He crieth unto Us (in all postures)- lying down on his side, or sitting, or standing. But when We have solved his trouble, he passeth on his way as if he had never cried to Us for a trouble that touched him! thus d o the deeds of transgressors seem fair in their eyes

Elmalılı Hamdi Yazırİnsana bir sıkıntı dokunduğu zaman, gerek yan yatarken, gerek otururken, gerek dikilirken bize dua eder. Kendisinden sıkıntısını gideriverdik mi sanki kendisine dokunan o sıkıntı için bize hiç yalvarmamış gibi aldırmadan geçer gider. İşte o aşırı gidenlere yaptıkları şeyler böyle güzel gelir

Saheeh InternationalAnd We had already destroyed generations before you when they wronged, and their messengers had come to them with clear proofs, but they were not to believe. Thus do We recompense the criminal people

Yusuf AliGenerations before you We destroyed when they did wrong: their apostles came to them with clear-signs, but they would not believe! thus do We requite those who sin

Yusuf AliThen We made you heirs in the land after them, to see how ye would behave

Saheeh InternationalAnd when Our verses are recited to them as clear evidences, those who do not expect the meeting with Us say, "Bring us a Qur'an other than this or change it." Say, [O Muhammad], "It is not for me to change it on my own accord. I only follow what is revealed to me. Indeed I fear, if I should disobey my Lord, the punishment of a tremendous Day

Yusuf AliBut when Our Clear Signs are rehearsed unto them, those who rest not their hope on their meeting with Us, Say: "Bring us a reading other than this, or change this," Say: "It is not for me, of my own accord, to change it: I follow naught but wha t is revealed unto me: if I were to disobey my Lord, I should myself fear the penalty of a Great Day (to come)

Saheeh InternationalSay, "If Allah had willed, I would not have recited it to you, nor would He have made it known to you, for I had remained among you a lifetime before it. Then will you not reason

Yusuf AliSay: "If God had so willed, I should not have rehearsed it to you, nor would He have made it known to you. A whole life-time before this have I tarried amongst you: will ye not then understand

Saheeh InternationalSo who is more unjust than he who invents a lie about Allah or denies His signs? Indeed, the criminals will not succeed

Yusuf AliWho doth more wrong than such as forge a lie against God, or deny His Signs? But never will prosper those who sin

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırArtık bir yalanı Allah'a iftira eden veya O'nun âyetlerini inkar edenden daha zalim kim olabilir? Hiç şüphesiz o mücrimler iflah olmayacaklar

Saheeh InternationalAnd they worship other than Allah that which neither harms them nor benefits them, and they say, "These are our intercessors with Allah " Say, "Do you inform Allah of something He does not know in the heavens or on the earth?" Exalted is He and high above what they associate with Him

Yusuf AliThey serve, besides God, things that hurt them not nor profit them, and they say: "These are our intercessors with God." Say: "Do ye indeed inform God of something He knows not, in the heavens or on earth?- Glory to Him! and far is He above th e partners they ascribe (to Him)

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırAllah'ı bırakıyorlar da, kendilerine ne fayda, ne de zarar verebilecek olan şeylere tapıyorlar ve "Bunlar bizim Allah katında şefaatçilerimizdir." diyorlar. De ki, "Siz Allah'a göklerde ve yerde O'nun bilmediği bir şeyi mi haber veriyorsunuz?" Allah onların ortak koştukları şeylerin hepsinden münezzehtir

Saheeh InternationalAnd mankind was not but one community [united in religion], but [then] they differed. And if not for a word that preceded from your Lord, it would have been judged between them [immediately] concerning that over which they differ

Yusuf AliMankind was but one nation, but differed (later). Had it not been for a word that went forth before from thy Lord, their differences would have been settled between them

Saheeh InternationalAnd they say, "Why is a sign not sent down to him from his Lord?" So say, "The unseen is only for Allah [to administer], so wait; indeed, I am with you among those who wait

Yusuf AliThey say: "Why is not a sign sent down to him from his Lord?" Say: "The Unseen is only for God (to know), then wait ye: I too will wait with you

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırBir de "Ona Rabbinden daha başka bir âyet indirilse ya!" diyorlar. De ki: "Gaybı bilmek ancak Allah'a mahsustur, bekleyiniz bakalım, ben de sizinle beraber bekleyeceğim şüphesiz

Saheeh InternationalAnd when We give the people a taste of mercy after adversity has touched them, at once they conspire against Our verses. Say, "Allah is swifter in strategy." Indeed, Our messengers record that which you conspire

Yusuf AliWhen We make mankind taste of some mercy after adversity hath touched them, behold! they take to plotting against Our Signs! Say: "Swifter to plan is God!" Verily, Our messengers record all the plots that ye make

Elmalılı Hamdi Yazırİnsanlara dokunan bir sıkıntıdan sonra kendilerine bir rahmet tattırdığımız zaman, âyetlerimiz hakkında derhal bir takım hilekârlıklara girişirler. De ki: "Allah'ın hilesi daha çabuktur. Haberiniz olsun ki elçilerimiz yaptığınız hileleri yazıp duruyorlar

Saheeh InternationalIt is He who enables you to travel on land and sea until, when you are in ships and they sail with them by a good wind and they rejoice therein, there comes a storm wind and the waves come upon them from everywhere and they assume that they are surrounded, supplicating Allah, sincere to Him in religion, "If You should save us from this, we will surely be among the thankful

Yusuf AliHe it is Who enableth you to traverse through land and sea; so that ye even board ships;- they sail with them with a favourable wind, and they rejoice thereat; then comes a stormy wind and the waves come to them from all sides, and they think they are being overwhelmed: they cry unto God, sincerely offering (their) duty unto Him saying, "If thou dost deliver us from this, we shall truly show our gratitude

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırSizi karada ve denizde gezdirip dolaştıran O'dur. Hatta gemilerde bulunduğunuz ve o gemiler, içindekilerle beraber hoş bir esinti ile akıp gittikleri ve tam keyiflendikleri sırada o gemilere şiddetli bir fırtına gelir çatar ve her taraftan onlara dalgalar gelmeye başlar. Bütünüyle kuşatılıp artık bittiklerini sanırlar. İşte o vakit tam ihlas ile Allah'a yalvarır ve dindar olurlar: "Eğer bizi buradan kurtarırsan, andolsun ki, şükredenlerden olacağız." derler. Sonra Allah onları oradan kurtarır, kurtulur kurtulmaz yeryüzünde çeşitli taşkınlıklara başlarlar. Ey insanlar taşkınlığınız sırf kendi zararınızadır. Şu değersiz dünya hayatının bir süre tadını çıkarınız, sonra nasıl olsa dönüp bize geleceksiniz. Biz de bütün yaptıklarınızı tek tek size haber vereceğiz

Saheeh InternationalBut when He saves them, at once they commit injustice upon the earth without right. O mankind, your injustice is only against yourselves, [being merely] the enjoyment of worldly life. Then to Us is your return, and We will inform you of what you used to do

Yusuf AliBut when he delivereth them, behold! they transgress insolently through the earth in defiance of right! O mankind! your insolence is against your own souls,- an enjoyment of the life of the present: in the end, to Us is your return, and We shal l show you the truth of all that ye did

Saheeh InternationalThe example of [this] worldly life is but like rain which We have sent down from the sky that the plants of the earth absorb - [those] from which men and livestock eat - until, when the earth has taken on its adornment and is beautified and its people suppose that they have capability over it, there comes to it Our command by night or by day, and We make it as a harvest, as if it had not flourished yesterday. Thus do We explain in detail the signs for a people who give thought

Yusuf AliThe likeness of the life of the present is as the rain which We send down from the skies: by its mingling arises the produce of the earth- which provides food for men and animals: (It grows) till the earth is clad with its golden ornaments and is decked out (in beauty): the people to whom it belongs think they have all powers of disposal over it: There reaches it Our command by night or by day, and We make it like a harvest clean-mown, as if it had not flourished only the day before! thus d o We explain the Signs in detail for those who reflect

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırDünya hayatının misali şöyledir: Gökten indirdiğimiz su ile, insanların ve hayvanların yediği bitkiler birbirine karışmıştır. Saheeh InternationalAnd Allah invites to the Home of Peace and guides whom He wills to a straight path

Yusuf AliBut God doth call to the Home of Peace: He doth guide whom He pleaseth to a way that is straight

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırAllah, selamet yurduna çağırıyor ve dilediğini de doğru yola hidayet ediyor

Saheeh InternationalFor them who have done good is the best [reward] and extra. No darkness will cover their faces, nor humiliation. Those are companions of Paradise; they will abide therein eternally

Yusuf AliTo those who do right is a goodly (reward)- Yea, more (than in measure)! No darkness nor shame shall cover their faces! they are companions of the garden; they will abide therein (for aye)

Elmalılı Hamdi Yazırİyi iş, güzel amel yapanlara daha güzeli ve daha fazlasıyla karşılık vardır. Yüzlerine ne kara bulaşır, ne de aşağılanırlar. Cennet ehli işte bunlardır. Orada ebedî kalacaklardır

Saheeh InternationalBut they who have earned [blame for] evil doings - the recompense of an evil deed is its equivalent, and humiliation will cover them. They will have from Allah no protector. It will be as if their faces are covered with pieces of the night - so dark [are they]. Those are the companions of the Fire; they will abide therein eternally

Yusuf AliBut those who have earned evil will have a reward of like evil: ignominy will cover their (faces): No defender will they have from (the wrath of) God: Their faces will be covered, as it were, with pieces from the depth of the darkness of night : they are companions of the Fire: they will abide therein (for aye)

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırKötülük kazanmış olanlara gelince, kötülüğün cezası, misli kadardır. Ve onları bir aşağılık ve eziklik kaplar. Onlar için Allah'dan başka hiçbir kurtarıcı yoktur. Yüzleri karanlık gecelerden bir parçaya bürünmüş gibidir. İşte onlar cehennem ehlidir. Orada ebedî kalacaklardır

Saheeh InternationalAnd [mention, O Muhammad], the Day We will gather them all together - then We will say to those who associated others with Allah, "[Remain in] your place, you and your 'partners.' " Then We will separate them, and their "partners" will say, "You did not used to worship us

Yusuf AliOne day shall We gather them all together. Then shall We say to those who joined gods (with Us): "To your place! ye and those ye joined as 'partners' We shall separate them, and their "Partners" shall say: "It was not us that ye worshipped

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırO gün ki, hepsini mahşere toplayacağız, sonra da o şirk koşanlara "Haydi yerlerinize! Siz de, ortak koştuklarınız da!" diyeceğiz. Artık aralarını iyice açmışız. O ortak koştukları şeyler, "Siz bize tapmıyordunuz ki." diyecekler

Saheeh InternationalAnd sufficient is Allah as a witness between us and you that we were of your worship unaware

Yusuf AliEnough is God for a witness between us and you: we certainly knew nothing of your worship of us

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırŞimdi sizinle bizim aramızda şahit olarak Allah yeter. Sizin bize ibadet ettiğinizden bizim haberimiz yoktur" (diyecekler)

Saheeh InternationalThere, [on that Day], every soul will be put to trial for what it did previously, and they will be returned to Allah, their master, the Truth, and lost from them is whatever they used to invent

Yusuf AliThere will every soul prove (the fruits of) the deeds it sent before: they will be brought back to God their rightful Lord, and their invented falsehoods will leave them in the lurch

Elmalılı Hamdi Yazırİşte burada herkes geçmişte yaptığını bulacak. Ve gerçek mevlaları olan Allah'a döndürülecekler. İftira edip uydurdukları şeyler de kendilerinden büsbütün uzaklaşıp gidecek

Saheeh InternationalSay, "Who provides for you from the heaven and the earth? Or who controls hearing and sight and who brings the living out of the dead and brings the dead out of the living and who arranges [every] matter?" They will say, "Allah," so say, "Then will you not fear Him

Yusuf AliSay: "Who is it that sustains you (in life) from the sky and from the earth? or who is it that has power over hearing and sight? And who is it that brings out the living from the dead and the dead from the living? and who is it that rules and regulates all affairs?" They will soon say, "God". Say, "will ye not then show piety (to Him)

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırDe ki, "size gökten ve yerden kim rızık veriyor? O, kulaklara ve gözlere hükmeden kim? Ölüden diriyi, diriden ölüyü çıkaran kim? İşleri idare eden kim?" Hemen "Allah'dır" diyecekler. De ki, "O halde Allah'a karşı gelmekten sakınmaz mısınız

Saheeh InternationalFor that is Allah, your Lord, the Truth. And what can be beyond truth except error? So how are you averted

Yusuf AliSuch is God, your real Cherisher and Sustainer: apart from truth, what (remains) but error? How then are ye turned away

Saheeh InternationalThus the word of your Lord has come into effect upon those who defiantly disobeyed - that they will not believe

Yusuf AliThus is the word of thy Lord proved true against those who rebel: Verily they will not believe

Saheeh InternationalSay, "Are there of your 'partners' any who begins creation and then repeats it?" Say, "Allah begins creation and then repeats it, so how are you deluded

Yusuf AliSay: "Of your 'partners', can any originate creation and repeat it?" Say: "It is God Who originates creation and repeats it: then how are ye deluded away (from the truth)

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırDe ki: "Allah'a eş tuttuğunuz ortaklarınızdan, önce yaratıp, sonra da onu çevirip yeniden diriltecek var mı?" De ki, "Önce yaratıp, sonra da onu yeniden yaratacak olan Allah'dır. O halde nasıl yoldan saptırılıyor, döndürülüyorsunuz

Saheeh InternationalSay, "Are there of your 'partners' any who guides to the truth?" Say, "Allah guides to the truth. So is He who guides to the truth more worthy to be followed or he who guides not unless he is guided? Then what is [wrong] with you - how do you judge

Yusuf AliSay: "Of your 'partners' is there any that can give any guidance towards truth?" Say: "It is God Who gives guidance towards truth, is then He Who gives guidance to truth more worthy to be followed, or he who finds not guidance (himself) unless he is guided? what then is the matter with you? How judge ye

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırDe ki, "Ortak koştuklarınızdan doğru yolu gösterecek olan var mıdır?" Deki, "Allah, hak olan doğru yola hidayet eder. O halde doğru yola hidayet eden mi kendisine uyulmaya daha layıktır, yoksa kendisine yol gösterilmeyince onu bulamayan mı daha layıktır. O halde ne oluyorsunuz? Nasıl hükmediyorsunuz

Saheeh InternationalAnd most of them follow not except assumption. Indeed, assumption avails not against the truth at all. Indeed, Allah is Knowing of what they do

Yusuf AliBut most of them follow nothing but fancy: truly fancy can be of no avail against truth. Verily God is well aware of all that they do

Saheeh InternationalAnd it was not [possible] for this Qur'an to be produced by other than Allah, but [it is] a confirmation of what was before it and a detailed explanation of the [former] Scripture, about which there is no doubt, from the Lord of the worlds

Yusuf AliThis Qur'an is not such as can be produced by other than God; on the contrary it is a confirmation of (revelations) that went before it, and a fuller explanation of the Book - wherein there is no doubt - from the Lord of the worlds

Saheeh InternationalOr do they say [about the Prophet], "He invented it?" Say, "Then bring forth a surah like it and call upon [for assistance] whomever you can besides Allah, if you should be truthful

Yusuf AliOr do they say, "He forged it"? say: "Bring then a Sura like unto it, and call (to your aid) anyone you can besides God, if it be ye speak the truth

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırOnu o (peygamber) uydurdu" mu diyorlar? De ki; "Haydi siz de onun gibi bir sûre getirin ve Allah'dan başka, çağırabileceğiniz kim varsa onu da yardıma çağırın. Eğer sözünüzde sadık iseniz (bunu yapın)

Saheeh InternationalRather, they have denied that which they encompass not in knowledge and whose interpretation has not yet come to them. Thus did those before them deny. Then observe how was the end of the wrongdoers

Yusuf AliNay, they charge with falsehood that whose knowledge they cannot compass, even before the elucidation thereof hath reached them: thus did those before them make charges of falsehood: but see what was the end of those who did wrong

Saheeh InternationalAnd of them are those who believe in it, and of them are those who do not believe in it. And your Lord is most knowing of the corrupters

Yusuf AliOf them there are some who believe therein, and some who do not: and thy Lord knoweth best those who are out for mischief

Yusuf AliIf they charge thee with falsehood, say: "My work to me, and yours to you! ye are free from responsibility for what I do, and I for what ye do

Saheeh InternationalAnd among them are those who listen to you. But can you cause the deaf to hear, although they will not use reason

Yusuf AliAmong them are some who (pretend to) listen to thee: But canst thou make the deaf to hear,- even though they are without understanding

Saheeh InternationalAnd among them are those who look at you. But can you guide the blind although they will not [attempt to] see

Saheeh InternationalIndeed, Allah does not wrong the people at all, but it is the people who are wronging themselves

Yusuf AliVerily God will not deal unjustly with man in aught: It is man that wrongs his own soul

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırŞurası kesindir ki Allah, insanlara zerre kadar zulmetmez. Ne var ki, insanlar kendi kendilerine zulmedip duruyorlar

Saheeh InternationalAnd on the Day when He will gather them, [it will be] as if they had not remained [in the world] but an hour of the day, [and] they will know each other. Those will have lost who denied the meeting with Allah and were not guided

Yusuf AliOne day He will gather them together: (It will be) as if they had tarried but an hour of a day: they will recognise each other: assuredly those will be lost who denied the meeting with God and refused to receive true guidance

Saheeh InternationalAnd whether We show you some of what We promise them, [O Muhammad], or We take you in death, to Us is their return; then, [either way], Allah is a witness concerning what they are doing

Yusuf AliWhether We show thee (realised in thy life-time) some part of what We promise them,- or We take thy soul (to Our Mercy) (Before that),- in any case, to Us is their return: ultimately God is witness, to all that they do

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırOnlara vaad ettiğimizin bir kısmını sana göstersek de, göstermeden seni vefat ettirsek de, sonunda onların dönüşü bize olacak. Sonra onların ne yapacaklarına Allah şahit olacaktır

Saheeh InternationalAnd for every nation is a messenger. So when their messenger comes, it will be judged between them in justice, and they will not be wronged

Yusuf AliTo every people (was sent) an apostle: when their apostle comes (before them), the matter will be judged between them with justice, and they will not be wronged

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırHer ümmetin bir peygamberi vardır. O peygamberleri gelince aralarında adaletle hüküm verilir. Onlar hiç zulüm görmezler

Saheeh InternationalAnd they say, "When is [the fulfillment of] this promise, if you should be truthful

Yusuf AliThey say: "When will this promise come to pass,- if ye speak the truth

Saheeh InternationalSay, "I possess not for myself any harm or benefit except what Allah should will. For every nation is a [specified] term. When their time has come, then they will not remain behind an hour, nor will they precede [it]

Yusuf AliSay: "I have no power over any harm or profit to myself except as God willeth. To every people is a term appointed: when their term is reached, not an hour can they cause delay, nor (an hour) can they advance (it in anticipation)

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırDe ki, "Ben, Allah'ın dilediğinin dışında kendi kendime ne bir zarar ne bir fayda verebilirim". Her ümmetin bir eceli vardır. Ecelleri gelince artık ne bir an geri, ne bir an ileri gidebilirler

Saheeh InternationalSay, "Have you considered: if His punishment should come to you by night or by day - for which [aspect] of it would the criminals be impatient

Yusuf AliSay: "Do ye see,- if His punishment should come to you by night or by day,- what portion of it would the sinners wish to hasten

Saheeh InternationalThen is it that when it has [actually] occurred you will believe in it? Now? And you were [once] for it impatient

Yusuf AliWould ye then believe in it at last, when it actually cometh to pass? (It will then be said): 'Ah! now? and ye wanted (aforetime) to hasten it on

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırBu azap meydana geldikten sonra mı iman edeceksiniz, yoksa şimdi mi? Halbuki onun çarçabuk gelmesini istiyordunuz

Saheeh InternationalThen it will be said to those who had wronged, "Taste the punishment of eternity; are you being recompensed except for what you used to earn

Yusuf AliAt length will be said to the wrong-doers: 'Taste ye the enduring punishment! ye get but the recompense of what ye earned

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırSonra o zulüm yapanlara "Tadın bakalım şu ebedi azabı!" denilecek. Vaktiyle kazandığınızdan başkası ile mi cezalandırılacaksınız

Saheeh InternationalAnd they ask information of you, [O Muhammad], "Is it true?" Say, "Yes, by my Lord. Indeed, it is truth; and you will not cause failure [to Allah]

Yusuf AliThey seek to be informed by thee: "Is that true?" Say: "Aye! by my Lord! it is the very truth! and ye cannot frustrate it

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırO azap gerçek mi?" diye sana soruyorlar. De ki; "Evet. Rabbim hakkı için o kesin bir gerçektir. Ve siz bundan yakayı kurtaramazsınız

Saheeh InternationalAnd if each soul that wronged had everything on earth, it would offer it in ransom. And they will confide regret when they see the punishment; and they will be judged in justice, and they will not be wronged

Yusuf AliEvery soul that hath sinned, if it possessed all that is on earth, would fain give it in ransom: They would declare (their) repentance when they see the penalty: but the judgment between them will be with justice, and no wrong will be done unt o them

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırZulüm yapmış olan herkes, azabı görünce yeryüzündeki her şeyin sahibi olsa da, (o azaptan kurtulmak için) hepsini feda ederdi. Ve içten içe pişmanlık duyardı. Fakat aralarında adaletle hüküm verilir ve hiçbirine zulüm yapılmaz

Saheeh InternationalUnquestionably, to Allah belongs whatever is in the heavens and the earth. Unquestionably, the promise of Allah is truth, but most of them do not know

Yusuf AliIs it not (the case) that to God belongeth whatever is in the heavens and on earth? Is it not (the case) that God's promise is assuredly true? Yet most of them understand not

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırHaberiniz olsun ki, göklerde ve yerde ne varsa Allah'ındır. Açın gözünüzü, Allah'ın vaadi muhakkak ki, haktır, gerçektir. Lâkin onların çoğu bunu bilmezler

Saheeh InternationalHe gives life and causes death, and to Him you will be returned

Yusuf AliIt is He Who giveth life and who taketh it, and to Him shall ye all be brought back

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırO, hem can veren, hem can alandır. Ve hepiniz O'na döndürülüp götürüleceksiniz

Saheeh InternationalO mankind, there has to come to you instruction from your Lord and healing for what is in the breasts and guidance and mercy for the believers

Yusuf AliO mankind! there hath come to you a direction from your Lord and a healing for the (diseases) in your hearts,- and for those who believe, a guidance and a Mercy

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırEy insanlar! Size Rabbinizden bir öğüt, gönüller derdine bir şifa, müminlere bir hidayet ve rahmet geldi

Saheeh InternationalSay, "In the bounty of Allah and in His mercy - in that let them rejoice; it is better than what they accumulate

Yusuf AliSay: "In the bounty of God. And in His Mercy,- in that let them rejoice": that is better than the (wealth) they hoard

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırDe ki, "Allah'ın ihsanıyla ve rahmetiyle, yalnızca bunlarla sevinç duysunlar. Bu, onların biriktirip durduklarından daha hayırlıdır

Saheeh InternationalSay, "Have you seen what Allah has sent down to you of provision of which you have made [some] lawful and [some] unlawful?" Say, "Has Allah permitted you [to do so], or do you invent [something] about Allah

Yusuf AliSay: "See ye what things God hath sent down to you for sustenance? Yet ye hold forbidden some things thereof and (some things) lawful." Say: "Hath God indeed permitted you, or do ye invent (things) to attribute to God

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırDe ki, "Baksanıza, Allah sizin için nice rızıklar indirdi, siz onlardan bir kısmını haram, bir kısmını helâl yaptınız". De ki, "Size Allah mı izin verdi, yoksa siz Allah'a iftira mı ediyorsunuz

Saheeh InternationalAnd what will be the supposition of those who invent falsehood about Allah on the Day of Resurrection? Indeed, Allah is full of bounty to the people, but most of them are not grateful

Yusuf AliAnd what think those who invent lies against God, of the Day of Judgment? Verily God is full of bounty to mankind, but most of them are ungrateful

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırAllah'a yalanı iftira edenler kıyamet gününü ne sanıyorlar? Allah, insanlara çok ihsanda bulunmuştur, lâkin insanların çoğu şükretmezler

Saheeh InternationalAnd, [O Muhammad], you are not [engaged] in any matter or recite any of the Qur'an and you [people] do not do any deed except that We are witness over you when you are involved in it. And not absent from your Lord is any [part] of an atom's weight within the earth or within the heaven or [anything] smaller than that or greater but that it is in a clear register

Yusuf AliIn whatever business thou mayest be, and whatever portion thou mayest be reciting from the Qur'an,- and whatever deed ye (mankind) may be doing,- We are witnesses thereof when ye are deeply engrossed therein. Nor is hidden from thy Lord (so mu ch as) the weight of an atom on the earth or in heaven. And not the least and not the greatest of these things but are recorded in a clear record

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırHangi işi yaparsan yap, Kur'ân'dan ne okursan oku, ne işte çalışırsan çalış, unutmayın ki, siz ona dalıp gitmişken, biz sizin üzerinizde şahidiz. Ne yerde, ne de gökte zerre kadar hiç bir şey Rabbinin gözünden kaçmaz. Ne zerreden daha küçük, ne de ondan daha büyük! Ancak bunların hepsi apaçık bir kitaptadır

Saheeh InternationalUnquestionably, [for] the allies of Allah there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve

Yusuf AliBehold! verily on the friends of God there is no fear, nor shall they grieve

Saheeh InternationalThose who believed and were fearing Allah

Yusuf AliThose who believe and (constantly) guard against evil

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırOnlar ki, iman etmişler ve Allah'a karşı gelmekten sakınmışlardır

Saheeh InternationalFor them are good tidings in the worldly life and in the Hereafter. No change is there in the words of Allah. That is what is the great attainment

Yusuf AliFor them are glad tidings, in the life of the present and in the Hereafter; no change can there be in the words of God. This is indeed the supreme felicity

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırOnlara dünya hayatında da, ahiret hayatında da müjdeler vardır. Allah'ın sözlerinde değişiklik yoktur. İşte bu en büyük kurtuluştur

Saheeh InternationalAnd let not their speech grieve you. Indeed, honor [due to power] belongs to Allah entirely. He is the Hearing, the Knowing

Yusuf AliLet not their speech grieve thee: for all power and honour belong to God: It is He Who heareth and knoweth (all things)

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırHabibim, onların lafları seni üzmesin. Çünkü şan ve şeref bütünüyle Allah'ındır. O her şeyi işitiyor, hepsini görüyor

Saheeh InternationalUnquestionably, to Allah belongs whoever is in the heavens and whoever is on the earth. And those who invoke other than Allah do not [actually] follow [His] "partners." They follow not except assumption, and they are not but falsifying

Yusuf AliBehold! verily to God belong all creatures, in the heavens and on earth. What do they follow who worship as His "partners" other than God? They follow nothing but fancy, and they do nothing but lie

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırAçın gözünüzü! Göklerde kim var, yerde kim varsa hep Allah'ındır. Allah'dan başkasına tapanlar dahi, Allah'a ortak koştuklarına uymuş olmuyorlar, ancak zanna uymuş oluyorlar. Ve yalandan başka bir şey söylemiyorlar

Saheeh InternationalIt is He who made for you the night to rest therein and the day, giving sight. Indeed in that are signs for a people who listen

Yusuf AliHe it is That hath made you the night that ye may rest therein, and the day to make things visible (to you). Verily in this are signs for those who listen (to His Message)

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırO, öyle bir Allah'dır ki, içinde dinlenesiniz diye sizin için geceyi, göresiniz diye de gündüzü yaptı. Elbette bunda söz dinleyecek olan bir kavim için âyetler (ibretler) vardır

Saheeh InternationalThey have said, "Allah has taken a son." Exalted is He; He is the [one] Free of need. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth. You have no authority for this [claim]. Do you say about Allah that which you do not know

Yusuf AliThey say: "God hath begotten a son!" - Glory be to Him! He is self- sufficient! His are all things in the heavens and on earth! No warrant have ye for this! say ye about God what ye know not

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırDediler ki: "Allah, kendine çocuk edindi". O, böyle şeylerden münezzehtir. O, müstağnidir. Göklerde ve yerde ne varsa hepsi O'nundur. Bu hususta elinizde hiç bir delil yoktur. Allah'a karşı bilmediğiniz bir şeyi neden söylüyorsunuz

Saheeh InternationalSay, "Indeed, those who invent falsehood about Allah will not succeed

Yusuf AliSay: "Those who invent a lie against God will never prosper

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırDe ki: Allah'a iftira edenler elbette felah bulmazlar

Saheeh International[For them is brief] enjoyment in this world; then to Us is their return; then We will make them taste the severe punishment because they used to disbelieve

Yusuf AliA little enjoyment in this world!- and then, to Us will be their return, then shall We make them taste the severest penalty for their blasphemies

Saheeh InternationalAnd recite to them the news of Noah, when he said to his people, "O my people, if my residence and my reminding of the signs of Allah has become burdensome upon you - then I have relied upon Allah. So resolve upon your plan and [call upon] your associates. Then let not your plan be obscure to you. Then carry it out upon me and do not give me respite

Yusuf AliRelate to them the story of Noah. Behold! he said to his people: "O my people, if it be hard on your (mind) that I should stay (with you) and commemorate the signs of God,- yet I put my trust in God. Get ye then an agreement about your plan a nd among your partners, so your plan be on to you dark and dubious. Then pass your sentence on me, and give me no respite

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırBir de onlara Nuh'un kıssasını oku: Hani o bir zamanlar kavmine demişti ki: "Ey kavmim, eğer benim aranızda duruşum ve Allah'ın âyetleriyle öğüt verişim size ağır geliyorsa, şunu bilin ki, ben yalnızca Allah'a dayanmışımdır, artık siz ve ortaklarınız her ne yapacaksanız toplanıp bütün gücünüzle karar veriniz. Sonra bu işiniz size dert olmasın. Sonra bana ne yapacaksanız yapın, bana mühlet de vermeyin

Saheeh InternationalAnd if you turn away [from my advice] then no payment have I asked of you. My reward is only from Allah, and I have been commanded to be of the Muslims

Yusuf AliBut if ye turn back, (consider): no reward have I asked of you: my reward is only due from God, and I have been commanded to be of those who submit to God's will (in Islam)

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırEğer yüz çevirirseniz çevirin, ben de sizden bir ücret istemedim ya! Benim mükafatımı ancak Allah verir. Ve ben O'nun emrine boyun eğen müslümanlardan olmakla emrolundum

Saheeh InternationalAnd they denied him, so We saved him and those with him in the ship and made them successors, and We drowned those who denied Our signs. Then see how was the end of those who were warned

Yusuf AliThey rejected Him, but We delivered him, and those with him, in the Ark, and We made them inherit (the earth), while We overwhelmed in the flood those who rejected Our Signs. Then see what was the end of those who were warned (but heeded not)

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırBuna rağmen yine de onu inkâr ettiler. Biz de onu ve gemide kendisiyle beraber olanları kurtardık. Ve onları yeryüzüne halifeler yaptık. Âyetlerimizi inkâr edenleri ise suda boğduk. Bak işte uyarılanların akıbeti nasıl oldu

Saheeh InternationalThen We sent after him messengers to their peoples, and they came to them with clear proofs. But they were not to believe in that which they had denied before. Thus We seal over the hearts of the transgressors

Yusuf AliThen after him We sent (many) apostles to their peoples: they brought them Clear Signs, but they would not believe what they had already rejected beforehand. Thus do We seal the hearts of the transgressors

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırSonra onun arkasından birçok peygamberleri kavimlerine gönderdik. Onlara açık mucizelerle geldiler. Fakat onlar bir defa yalan dediklerine sonuna kadar bir türlü inanmadılar. İşte biz, haddi aşanların kalblerini böyle mühürleriz

Saheeh InternationalThen We sent after them Moses and Aaron to Pharaoh and his establishment with Our signs, but they behaved arrogantly and were a criminal people

Yusuf AliThen after them sent We Moses and Aaron to Pharaoh and his chiefs with Our Signs. But they were arrogant: they were a people in sin

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırSonra bunların arkasından Musa ile Harun'u âyetlerimizle Firavun'a ve cemaatine gönderdik. İman etmeyi kibirlerine yediremediler ve günahkâr bir kavim oldular

Saheeh InternationalSo when there came to them the truth from Us, they said, "Indeed, this is obvious magic

Yusuf AliWhen the Truth did come to them from Us, they said: "This is indeed evident sorcery

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırKendilerine tarafımızdan hak gelince, "Muhakkak ki bu, apaçık bir sihirdir." dediler

Saheeh InternationalMoses said, "Do you say [thus] about the truth when it has come to you? Is this magic? But magicians will not succeed

Yusuf AliSaid Moses: "Say ye (this) about the truth when it hath (actually) reached you? Is sorcery (like) this? But sorcerers will not prosper

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırMusa dedi ki, "Size hak gelince, ona böyle mi diyorsunuz? Bu sihir midir?" Halbuki sihirbazlar iflah olmazlar

Saheeh InternationalThey said, "Have you come to us to turn us away from that upon which we found our fathers and so that you two may have grandeur in the land? And we are not believers in you

Yusuf AliThey said: "Hast thou come to us to turn us away from the ways we found our fathers following,- in order that thou and thy brother may have greatness in the land? But not we shall believe in you

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırDediler ki: "Sen bizi, atalarımızdan kalan yoldan çeviresin de yeryüzünde saltanat ikinizin olsun diye mi geldin? Biz ikinize de inanmayız

Saheeh InternationalAnd Pharaoh said, "Bring to me every learned magician

Yusuf AliSaid Pharaoh: "Bring me every sorcerer well versed

Saheeh InternationalSo when the magicians came, Moses said to them, "Throw down whatever you will throw

Yusuf AliWhen the sorcerers came, Moses said to them: "Throw ye what ye (wish) to throw

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırSihirbazlar gelince, Musa onlara: "Ortaya ne atacaksanız atın!" dedi

Saheeh InternationalAnd when they had thrown, Moses said, "What you have brought is [only] magic. Indeed, Allah will expose its worthlessness. Indeed, Allah does not amend the work of corrupters

Yusuf AliWhen they had had their throw, Moses said: "What ye have brought is sorcery: God will surely make it of no effect: for God prospereth not the work of those who make mischief

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırOnlar ortaya atınca Musa dedi ki, "Sizin yaptığınız şey sihirdir. Muhakkak ki, Allah onu iptal edecektir. Şüphe yok ki, Allah fesatçıların işlerini düze çıkarmaz

Saheeh InternationalAnd Allah will establish the truth by His words, even if the criminals dislike it

Yusuf AliAnd God by His words doth prove and establish His truth, however much the sinners may hate it

Saheeh InternationalBut no one believed Moses, except [some] youths among his people, for fear of Pharaoh and his establishment that they would persecute them. And indeed, Pharaoh was haughty within the land, and indeed, he was of the transgressors

Yusuf AliBut none believed in Moses except some children of his people, because of the fear of Pharaoh and his chiefs, lest they should persecute them; and certainly Pharaoh was mighty on the earth and one who transgressed all bounds

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırFiravun ve adamlarının kendilerini belaya uğratacağı korkusundan dolayı Musa'ya kendi kavminin bir oymağından başka kimse iman etmedi. Çünkü orada Firavun çok üstün idi ve o kesinlikle aşırı giden taşkınlardandı

Saheeh InternationalAnd Moses said, "O my people, if you have believed in Allah, then rely upon Him, if you should be Muslims

Yusuf AliMoses said: "O my people! If ye do (really) believe in God, then in Him put your trust if ye submit (your will to His)

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırMusa dedi ki: "Ey kavmim! Siz gerçekten Allah'a iman ettinizse, O'na samimiyetle teslim olan müslümanlardan oldunuzsa artık O'na güvenin

Saheeh InternationalSo they said, "Upon Allah do we rely. Our Lord, make us not [objects of] trial for the wrongdoing people

Yusuf AliThey said: "In God do we put out trust. Our Lord! make us not a trial for those who practise oppression

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırOnlar da: "Biz Allah'a güvendik. Ey Rabbimiz, bizi o zalim kavmin fitnesine uğratma!" dediler

Saheeh InternationalAnd save us by Your mercy from the disbelieving people

Yusuf AliAnd deliver us by Thy Mercy from those who reject (Thee)

Saheeh InternationalAnd We inspired to Moses and his brother, "Settle your people in Egypt in houses and make your houses [facing the] qiblah and establish prayer and give good tidings to the believers

Yusuf AliWe inspired Moses and his brother with this Message: "Provide dwellings for your people in Egypt, make your dwellings into places of worship, and establish regular prayers: and give glad tidings to those who believe

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırBiz Musa ile kardeşine şöyle vahyettik: "Kavminiz için Mısır'da birtakım evler hazırlayın ve evlerinizi kıbleye karşı yapın ve namazı kılın ve müminlere müjde verin

Saheeh InternationalAnd Moses said, "Our Lord, indeed You have given Pharaoh and his establishment splendor and wealth in the worldly life, our Lord, that they may lead [men] astray from Your way. Our Lord, obliterate their wealth and harden their hearts so that they will not believe until they see the painful punishment

Yusuf AliMoses prayed: "Our Lord! Thou hast indeed bestowed on Pharaoh and his chiefs splendour and wealth in the life of the present, and so, Our Lord, they mislead (men) from Thy Path. Deface our Lord, the features of their wealth, and send hardness to their hearts, so they will not believe until they see the grievous penalty

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırMusa dedi: "Ey Rabbimiz! Sen Firavun'a ve adamlarına şu dünya hayatında göz kamaştırıcı zenginlik ve bol bol servet verdin. Ey Rabbimiz! Senin yolundan saptırsınlar diye mi? Ey Rabbimiz! Onların mallarını sil süpür ve kalblerine sıkıntı düşür. Çünkü onlar o acıklı azabı görmedikçe iman etmeyecekler

Saheeh International[Allah] said, "Your supplication has been answered." So remain on a right course and follow not the way of those who do not know

Yusuf AliGod said: "Accepted is your prayer (O Moses and Aaron)! So stand ye straight, and follow not the path of those who know not

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırAllah buyurdu: "Her ikinizin de duası kesinlikle kabul olundu. Siz yine doğru ve dürüst olmaya devam edin. Kendini bilmeyenlerin yoluna sakın uymayın

Saheeh InternationalAnd We took the Children of Israel across the sea, and Pharaoh and his soldiers pursued them in tyranny and enmity until, when drowning overtook him, he said, "I believe that there is no deity except that in whom the Children of Israel believe, and I am of the Muslims

Yusuf AliWe took the Children of Israel across the sea: Pharaoh and his hosts followed them in insolence and spite. At length, when overwhelmed with the flood, he said: "I believe that there is no god except Him Whom the Children of Israel believe in: I am of those who submit (to God in Islam)

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırVe sonra İsrailoğulları'nı denizden aşırdık. Firavun, düşmanca saldırmak için derhal adamlarını ve askerlerini arkalarına düşürdü. Ta ki, suda boğulmaya başlayınca "İnandım, gerçekten de İsrailoğulları'nın iman ettiğinden başka tanrı yoktur. Ben de ona teslim olanlardanım." dedi

Saheeh InternationalNow? And you had disobeyed [Him] before and were of the corrupters

Yusuf Ali(It was said to him): "Ah now!- But a little while before, wast thou in rebellion!- and thou didst mischief (and violence)

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırŞimdi mi? Oysa bundan önce hep isyan etmiştin ve fesatçılardan idin

Saheeh InternationalSo today We will save you in body that you may be to those who succeed you a sign. And indeed, many among the people, of Our signs, are heedless

Yusuf AliThis day shall We save thee in the body, that thou mayest be a sign to those who come after thee! but verily, many among mankind are heedless of Our Signs

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırBiz de bugün senin bedenini arkandan gelenlere bir ibret olsun diye kurtaracağız. Bununla beraber, insanların birçoğu âyetlerimizden yine de gafildirler

Saheeh InternationalAnd We had certainty settled the Children of Israel in an agreeable settlement and provided them with good things. And they did not differ until [after] knowledge had come to them. Indeed, your Lord will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection concerning that over which they used to differ

Yusuf AliWe settled the Children of Israel in a beautiful dwelling-place, and provided for them sustenance of the best: it was after knowledge had been granted to them, that they fell into schisms. Verily God will judge between them as to the schisms am ongst them, on the Day of Judgment

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırGerçekten İsrailoğulları'nı çok güzel bir yurda yerleştirdik ve onlara hoş nimetlerden rızıklar verdik. Anlaşmazlığa düşmeleri de kendilerine ilim geldikten sonra oldu. Şüphe yok ki, Rabbin, o anlaşmazlığa düştükleri konularda kıyamet günü aralarında hüküm verecektir

Saheeh InternationalSo if you are in doubt, [O Muhammad], about that which We have revealed to you, then ask those who have been reading the Scripture before you. The truth has certainly come to you from your Lord, so never be among the doubters

Yusuf AliIf thou wert in doubt as to what We have revealed unto thee, then ask those who have been reading the Book from before thee: the Truth hath indeed come to thee from thy Lord: so be in no wise of those in doubt

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırSana indirdiklerimizde herhangi bir şüpheye düşersen, senden önce kitap okuyanlara sor. Andolsun ki, sana Rabbinden hak gelmiştir. Sakın şüphe edenlerden olma

Saheeh InternationalAnd never be of those who deny the signs of Allah and [thus] be among the losers

Yusuf AliNor be of those who reject the signs of God, or thou shalt be of those who perish

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırVe sakın Allah'ın âyetlerini inkar edenlerden olma, sonra hüsrana uğrayanlardan olursun

Saheeh InternationalIndeed, those upon whom the word of your Lord has come into effect will not believe

Yusuf AliThose against whom the word of thy Lord hath been verified would not believe

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırDoğrusu, aleyhlerinde Rabbinin hükmü kesinleşmiş olanlar imana gelmezler

Saheeh InternationalEven if every sign should come to them, until they see the painful punishment

Yusuf AliEven if every Sign was brought unto them,- until they see (for themselves) the penalty grievous

Saheeh InternationalThen has there not been a [single] city that believed so its faith benefited it except the people of Jonah? When they believed, We removed from them the punishment of disgrace in worldly life and gave them enjoyment for a time

Yusuf AliWhy was there not a single township (among those We warned), which believed,- so its faith should have profited it,- except the people of Jonah? When they believed, We removed from them the penalty of ignominy in the life of the present, and p ermitted them to enjoy (their life) for a while

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırFakat o vakit iman edip de imanları kendilerine fayda vermiş bir kasaba olsaydı? Ancak Yunus'un kavmi iman ettikleri vakit, dünya hayatında o rezillik azabını üzerlerinden kaldırmış ve bir süre onları rahata kavuşturmuştuk

Saheeh InternationalAnd had your Lord willed, those on earth would have believed - all of them entirely. Then, [O Muhammad], would you compel the people in order that they become believers

Yusuf AliIf it had been thy Lord's will, they would all have believed,- all who are on earth! wilt thou then compel mankind, against their will, to believe

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırEğer Rabbin dileseydi, yeryüzünde kim varsa hepsi toptan iman ederlerdi. O halde insanları hep mümin olsunlar diye sen mi zorlayacaksın

Saheeh InternationalAnd it is not for a soul to believe except by permission of Allah, and He will place defilement upon those who will not use reason

Yusuf AliNo soul can believe, except by the will of God, and He will place doubt (or obscurity) on those who will not understand

Saheeh InternationalSay, "Observe what is in the heavens and earth." But of no avail will be signs or warners to a people who do not believe

Yusuf AliSay: "Behold all that is in the heavens and on earth"; but neither Signs nor Warners profit those who believe not

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırDe ki: "Göklerde ve yerde olup bitenlere dikkatle bakın!" Fakat o uyarmalar ve o âyetler, iman etmeyen bir kavme fayda vermez ki

Saheeh InternationalSo do they wait except for like [what occurred in] the days of those who passed on before them? Say, "Then wait; indeed, I am with you among those who wait

Yusuf AliDo they then expect (any thing) but (what happened in) the days of the men who passed away before them? Say: "Wait ye then: for I, too, will wait with you

Saheeh InternationalThen We will save our messengers and those who have believed. Thus, it is an obligation upon Us that We save the believers

Yusuf AliIn the end We deliver Our apostles and those who believe: Thus is it fitting on Our part that We should deliver those who believe

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırSonra biz, peygamberlerimizi ve iman edenleri kurtarırız. İşte biz böyleyiz. Müminleri kurtarmak üzerimize düşen bir görevdir

Saheeh InternationalSay, [O Muhammad], "O people, if you are in doubt as to my religion - then I do not worship those which you worship besides Allah; but I worship Allah, who causes your death. And I have been commanded to be of the believers

Yusuf AliSay: "O ye men! If ye are in doubt as to my religion, (behold!) I worship not what ye worship, other than God! But I worship God - Who will take your souls (at death): I am commanded to be (in the ranks) of the Believers

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırDe ki: "Ey insanlar! Eğer benim dinimde bir şüpheniz varsa, şunu bilin ki, Allah'ı bırakıp da sizin taptıklarınıza tapmam. Lâkin sizin de canınızı alacak olan Allah'a taparım. Bana müminlerden olmam emredilmiştir

Saheeh InternationalAnd [commanded], 'Direct your face toward the religion, inclining to truth, and never be of those who associate others with Allah

Yusuf AliAnd further (thus): 'set thy face towards religion with true piety, and never in any wise be of the Unbelievers

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırAyrıca yüzünü tevhid dininden ayırma ve sakın müşriklerden olma!" (diye emrolundum)

Saheeh InternationalAnd do not invoke besides Allah that which neither benefits you nor harms you, for if you did, then indeed you would be of the wrongdoers

Yusuf AliNor call on any, other than God;- Such will neither profit thee nor hurt thee: if thou dost, behold! thou shalt certainly be of those who do wrong

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırVe Allah'dan başka, sana faydası da, zararı da dokunmayacak olan şeylere yalvarma! Eğer yalvarırsan, o zaman hiç şüphesiz sen zalimlerden olursun

Saheeh InternationalAnd if Allah should touch you with adversity, there is no remover of it except Him; and if He intends for you good, then there is no repeller of His bounty. He causes it to reach whom He wills of His servants. And He is the Forgiving, the Merciful

Yusuf AliIf God do touch thee with hurt, there is none can remove it but He: if He do design some benefit for thee, there is none can keep back His favour: He causeth it to reach whomsoever of His servants He pleaseth. And He is the Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırVe eğer Allah, sana bir zarar dokunduracak olursa, onu O'ndan başka giderecek yoktur. Ve eğer sana bir hayır dilerse, o zaman da O'nun hayrını engelleyebilecek kimse yoktur. O, lütfunu dilediği kuluna nasip eder. Allah çok yarlığayıcı, çok esirgeyicidir

Saheeh InternationalSay, "O mankind, the truth has come to you from your Lord, so whoever is guided is only guided for [the benefit of] his soul, and whoever goes astray only goes astray [in violation] against it. And I am not over you a manager

Yusuf AliSay: "O ye men! Now Truth hath reached you from your Lord! those who receive guidance, do so for the good of their own souls; those who stray, do so to their own loss: and I am not (set) over you to arrange your affairs

Elmalılı Hamdi YazırDe ki: "Ey insanlar! İşte size Rabbinizden hak geldi. Artık kim hidayeti kabul ederse kendi canı için kabul etmiş olur. Kim sapıklık ederse kendi zararına sapıklık etmiş olur. Ve ben sizin üzerinize vekil değilim

Saheeh InternationalAnd follow what is revealed to you, [O Muhammad], and be patient until Allah will judge. And He is the best of judges

Yusuf AliFollow thou the inspiration sent unto thee, and be patient and constant, till God do decide: for He is the best to decide
